I had a good time with my buddy this morning. A friend in need is a friend indeed. I helped him before and he hasn't forgot it. That is why he comes to help me with building my room. He didn't have a car when I would drive a long way to take him to meetings and goes out of his way to come help me. That is what I call friendship.

I was told this morning..that it hadn't rained this much here in a very long time. Then I moved here a yr ago and we've had nothing but rain, one hurricane and a tropical storm....hummm, makes one wonder.

We got just a little rain, yesterday. Just enough to let me know I need to hurry up and get those shingles. I have one square on but need to put 3 more square on. At this point I don't really care if they are all the same color. 78 dollars a square with a square being three bundles here. I got friends looking for me for leftovers at constructions sites. I am glad the walls are tar papered. So far they are intact with all the many staples we put in them. I am just glad we didn't have trouble with wind. Wind and tar paper can be really a struggle. I only had two leaks and they were small.

I'd tar paper the roof, also. A little extra protection never hurts.
Also, watch the weather pattern, looks like that hurricane is going to slide acroee to the east & then turn north. Hope you can keep things dry.

Good morning. The wind got to some of the tar paper but I got up there with the Stanly stapler hammer I bought at Walmart with the six millimeter staples. I have seen people put tin over shingles but driving by my nurse friend house to see if she had any extra shingles was the first time I ever seen a house with shingles over the tin. Interesting house to say the least. I want to look at it again and see how she had them attached. I will get a chance as she said she would see if there was any shingles she had left. It is still raining but its not windy here.

Tin/flashing,bent to fit, is used in the area around chimmeys/valleys/roof edges & then shingled over, to help keep ice from forming under the shingles & better water run off. FYI

I have some flashing I bought for the joining of the two roofs together. I just didn't have the shingles to finish the job. It reminds of this joke where this old woman complains to husband to fix the roof so it won't leak. When its raining he says he can't fix the roof because its raining. And when its not raining he says that there is no reason to fix the roof because its not raining.
