Topic: What is tolerance? | |
---|---|
Can someone tell me what tolerance is? How can someone display
tolerance? |
Its difficult for someone to display tolerance when they feel attacked.
That was not directed at anyone in particular, just an observation that
applies to most people, most of the time. |
Not sure how tolerance could be displayed. If you were actually tolerant
of something, you wouldnt be displaying anything |

Tolerance is often the ability to simply ignore those who try to get
"under your skin" by making rude comments, assuming they know everything or just being plain hateful. Tolerance also comes from accepting others for what they are & not making a mute attempt to make change them into what you would like, or think they should be. Learning to be tolerant & accepting of others is a valuable life lesson. Peace, love & wisdom |

it's like when the kids are screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemingggggggggggggggg
and you wanna yell but you stop and see how much fun they have..you watch them tag each other sometimes too hard but ya say nothing ..allowing ,tolerating , the noise and the worry because their actions and fun are more important than anything you could say |

to me it is a spirit of allowing for differences. It does not mean
acceptance of differing opinions but constitutes a fair, permissive attitude toward beliefs that may differ markedly from my own... ...the opposite of bigotry. Nice question |

tolerance comes from weighing priorities and letting go
it's a lot harder to hold on than to let go |

So very true!

Being neigbors in peace and harmony though our faiths are different.
Allowing that difference while still holding true to your faith. |

Bl8ant,
I can't help wondering, if this: >>It's like when the kids are screeeeeeemingggggggggg >> and you wanna yell but you stop and see how much fun they have. was intended as a comparison for what we see here in the forums sometimes. |

Mass you could be right. Being a kid is soooooo much fun. Not the fighting part but just the fun part. |

IMHO tolerance is the ability to see the other person's point of view
and respect it, even if you don't agree with it. |

Ghost.
I believe I agree with you. Also i saw u were once a Mormon. I just wanted to say when I was in the Air Force the only peirs i found I could believe as a new recruit was the ones who said they were Mormons. I learned I could trust what they said. So something is done right inside the religion to me. I will tell you untill you are assigned a perment station (I was in the USAF ) I never meant so many/ liars/experts/karate experts (haha) in my life. Keep going Ghost you will find what YHWH wills for you. Shalom and May YHWH of Hosts Fill Your House with His True Shalom...... Miles |

Tolerance is the ability to live and let live, without trying to change
the way of others. To just accept them as they are, not telling them that they are wrong only because their ways are not ours. |
