Topic: Open Letter To Pres. Obama From Michael Moore | |

i have to disagree with you on one thing fanta, Afghanistan didn't attack us either. There is an interest there but it isn't oil, it's poppy fields. There's also the opportunity to put in a puppet govt to do our bidding much like america's done with every brown nation they've beat into submission.
I do agree, the only people that should be angry with Obama is those of us that voted him in and i am over the issues of the war..however i'm a realist and know that it takes time to withdraw which pulling out of Afghanistan by 2011 doesn't seem likely. I think it's also silly to blame one party or one person over these snafus. It's government period, it's their Imperialism that's created this image of America. Americans can't grasp this, people should see from mine or people not from here's point of view. 98% of the hijackers were saudi not pashtun yet the Kingdom was never subject to any threats. It should also be noted that 9 of the alleged hijackers have never set foot in the States and are still alive, but that's a subject for another thread. peace |

Peace makers and pacifists during war used to be called UNAmerican. Even worse at times. If you aren't willing to fight for it then it isnt yours. Ask any parent. I am a parent. That works for individual goals but not with the lives of strangers one doesnt even know. A majority chooses what issues to die for and then sends those who choose to do the work for them.I choose neither to send or have my son sent and that should be my choice as American. Not everyone is cut out for battle and sending those who arent to die for dying sake is nonsense. I don't know how familiar you are with the draft. The last one gave 'em 4 options. 1 Wait and see if your number came up. 2 Enlist and get other choices than just Infantry. 3 Prison. 4.Haul a$$ to Canada If there is another one, Canada is no longer an option. They'll deport the dodger. |

You may sign on to be one thing but they are gonna put you where they need you,,it is their entitlement. |

That right there is why I advise anyone wanting to enlist for a job skill, take an attorney with them to guarantee they get the specific MOS they want. If the Military tries any funny stuff, the enlistee can either accept it or sue them for breach of contract and get out. |

If you aren't willing to fight for it then it isn't yours.
As such you shouldn't be allowed to enjoy it. Those least willing to send soldiers to die were once soldiers themselves. They wont send them to die for nonsense. |

Cool, wasnt aware that was possible, wish my husband at the time would have known that. |

Ant American who thinks the war in Afghanistan is not worth dying for should have their worth as an American checked.
Al Qaeda attacked us! |

Seriously,
They should start the draft and send 300,000 more of this Generation ME straight to Afghanistan. Teach them a little us and get them out from under momma's skirt. |

Ant American who thinks the war in Afghanistan is not worth dying for should have their worth as an American checked. Al Qaeda attacked us! and 8 years ago, it made sense to be there because we were after those that attacked us. now, intellgience shows there are less than 100 of them in afghanistan - they're now in pakistan along the border. Afghanistan has not been a righteous war for some time now. so my question for you is should we attack Pakistan too? On your logic, it sounds like we should... And the reason I don't believe in the draft is that while we enjoy certain freedoms, I do not believe dying for someone else's beliefs and desires. If we were geneuinely attacked and our freedoms had to be defended, I would fight; however, right now, there is nothing to do with our freedoms in Afghanistan and we're just looking at Vietnam part II right now. We leave, they come back. Guess we'll have to occupy yet another nation for eternity. And before you jump off saying I won't do anything for my freedoms... in a year and a half, I'll be working for the DOD working on their IT security and surveilence. Yeah, not as glamourous as running around with a gun but it serves the same end purpose. |

Good for you and your work Andrew! ![]() If Pakistan won't attack them then yes, we should cross the border and take care of business our self. Fortunately Pakistan is doing something about it. We need to coordinate a Pincher movement with their military though. It makes little sense to keep chasing them back and forth across the border. According to which country is mounting the latest offensive. Of course that proposition will take troops. If the Me gen is unwilling to volunteer in numbers great enough, Draft! |

What I'm talking about doesn't call for bombing by aircraft either.
Not unless the target is identified by an American on the ground with his own eyes. No more of this second hand crap. I'm talking about conventional, feet on the ground, man to man, face to face, grunt warfare. 300,00o grunts and all the artillery they need! |

Armies, not brigades.

Moore is an idiot and a liar, the only things he cares about are fame and money. His film about the "excellent" public health in Cuba is a total lie.

How un-pacifist of you. Like I said earlier, show me a nation of pacifist and I'll show you a country ruled by a military dictatorship. America and the American life style were not built on the backs of pacifists! |
