I don't know if I am going to hell or even to heaven. I don't have the
answers. I don't even have a lot of answers. I am just on a spiritual
journey to find a way of peace and love.

I do however believe in God. So, it is through words and what I see and
hear and feel that I walk my walk, to make my way through the best life
I can have, here and later. And if my walk finds a glorious salvation,
then it was well worth the steps. And if it doesn't, then I at least
tried. Isn't that all we can do?

Kat,

Please read the following scripture:

2 Timothy 2:10-13
-------------------------------------------------------------
For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are
chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ
Jesus and with it eternal glory.

It is a trustworthy statement:
For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;
If we endure, we will also reign with Him;
If we deny Him, He also will deny us;
If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Read the last line several times, it is one of the most powerful
scriptures in the Bible.

First mistranslation

Sheol to the word Hell. This mistranslation occurs 31 times in the Old
Testement.
Sheol means a pit in the ground where the dead are placed (a Grave).

Second mistranslation

Gehenna to the word Hell. This mistranslation occurs 11 times in the
bible.
Gehenna means 'steep sided gorge or valley' and refers to the Valley of
Hinnon

Thrid mistranslation

Hades to the word Hell. This mistranslation occurs 10 times.
Hades means a concealed place for dead people (A Grave)

Fourth mistranslation

Tartarus (or in some books Tartoo) to the word Hell. This
mistranslation occurs 1 time.
Tartarus means 'a deep dark abyss, a place of restraint, or
incarceration' and is the place where the dragon, the serpant of old,
satan the devil will be thrown (the bottomless pit).

So once again I ask. Which hell. Tartarus is reserved for Satan and is
the only mention of this word in the bible.

so will we go to the grave or to the Vally of Hinnon. (which by the way
Judas bought a small portion of with his blood money.)

Lee, you are a wonderous soul. To hear that from you makes my otherwise
bad day seem somehow better. Thank you darlin.
I wish for you to find the kindness in the world you seek. For there to
be no more ugliness, no more destruction, the pure clean humanity that
needs to be, so that the light shines so bright, as to make even the
sand sparkle as diamonds on a cloudy day.

Thank you spider.
I do not deny God. Did I? I have done as you asked, and read it several
times. I am sure I will read it more. Very good lines indeed. Thank you
again.

I make no excuses for my combatative behaviour....none.

Was that so necessary to have to post it here?

Is it necessary to instruct one of the most gentle women in the whole of
these forums?

Surely mail would suffice...

I take offense to it....as though somehow one is tainted and can be
swayed from their faith by acknowledging, and accepting others for their
differences...

If faith, (Christianity) was to be discussed, and for me to have an open
heart to it...there is only one woman I would turn to...only one, for we
have an intimacy, a history, consistencies...she walks her walk...

I hope that was not the intention...

Well, I have been wading through pages and pages of what????????

A child trying to tell people what life is like.

A man who's knowledge is restricted to a few sentences.

Another man who thinks he knows it all.

But the posts of a few awesome people have made it worth it, the ones
that stand for something, the ones that see the difference, but embrace
it instead of shouting it down.
The ones that are gentle, firm in their beliefs, and have to listen to
lectures from the on who thinks he knows it all.
I will have to read again, it's still early,

but Kat, you don't need lecturing, if there was ever a Christian I
admired, it was you. If they were all like you, these forums would be a
pleasure

BoredChick,

I see people giving you good feedback in these threads, though not
always expressed in the best way. I see people with well-founded
frustrations with certain views often associated with Christianity, and
I see you being a lightening rod, a target for pent-up irritations which
ultimately are unrelated to you personally.

Though I don't agree with several basic tenets of your worldview, when I
read all of your threads together I must say that I'm very impressed
with your efforts to keep the conversation civil and mature.

Ghostwhisperer - Great post!

scttrbrain,

I wasn't suggesting that you had.

"If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself."

It adds a new twist to "body of Christ". Even if we lose faith, we are
still members of the body of Christ and he cannot deny us, because he
cannot deny himself.

I guess I wasn't being clear.

I saw your post saying that you didn't know if you would go to heaven or
hell and I was trying to encourage you. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

For anyone who is afraid they might go to hell just ask yourself one
simple question:

Could you send someone to hell?

If your answer is no, then you have no need to fear going to hell
yourself because there’s no way that you could possibly be more
compassionate than god, and if you can’t send someone to hell, then god
will surely not send you there either.

On the other hand, if your answer is yes, then perhaps you might
actually be in some danger of going there yourself.

Good Logic Abra. Does that work for ending someone's existance too.
Because I will admit that there are some few I would have no issue with
putting out of the publics misery. Of course not hell, heck I couldn't
even torture anyone, much. But I sure could end a few existances.
Freely admit it and not a thought of hell here.
