Yes! I'm an animal lover! Right now,I have a very loveable pug named Nemo.He is 5 and half yrs old. Someday I hope to win the Lottery and buy a farm, where I can have as many pets that I can take care of. Every Wed. in the newspaper there are dogs and cats that need a home and I want them so much but I live in a apt and only allow one pet.

You sound just like me.....I can't wait to get back in the country and have my hobby farm again...I have two pugs..Winn Dixie is 4 and Charlie(Winn-Dixie's baby) is a yr old now. They are such sweet little dog! :)

hey all..where are all you animal lovers? Lets not let this thread die....
I had my 1st Test in my Vet Tech class on Monday and got an A!!! I   am so happy!!! Tomorrow I have my 3rd quiz on the dog breeds..tomorrow it is on the non sporting group....
...so, lets see...to get this going again...
what is one animal that you all wish you could have but cant? As extremem or impossible as it may be, any animal you would love to own if you could...
I would love a giraffe...lol

Hmmm, maybe an elephant?! LOL

Congrats on your test grade. Have fun with the breed thing. IS it based off the AKC breeds, or a different group?

Thaank You!!! I made 100% on my quiz today!
I'm not sure how they choose which ones in the group to test on since they all in the groups arent listed, but thank goodness they arent...lol that would be a lot!!! ;) Usually we have between 12-16 to memorize and identify and we have to know how to spell them correctly too or we get points off and then we will get about 3 questions associated with them like maybe which one has a certain health issue ect...or what health issue it is....it all depends, we never know till we are taking the quiz, so we just need to be on top of all the notes we get in class.

I also like elephants..lol they are unique...same with giraffes.
I have a 6 hr intern to be done by Dec and it has to be done working under a certified Vet Tech and where at is of our choosing. i am going to try and get in to do it at the zoo...I would love to work at a zoo and eventually do wild life rescue

I love dogs...my best friends, have three of them. Sucks though, going to have to leave them behind when I move so they will be taken care of and not have to take the long trip with me.

My Airedales go with me everywhere--If they can't go--I don't--Just me--bigsmile

I'm relatively new here but thought that I'd jump right in. I like most animals but I'd have to say that cats are by far my favorite pet. Here's a pic of my cat...she's awesome!

I am an animal lover myself,my cat BK passed away a this summer at the age 17.I remember that he was very vocal and no one can tell that an animal is stupid or does not have emotions.

Rock on! Same at my end. Heck, it's cheaper moving the animals then kids.

My folks brought their cow down from Michigan to Texas, and we've taken horses back up, and brought them back down. The animals are for life!

Again, good luck on all of it. Fun, fun.

The neighbor had us and the horse vet over Friday night when her colt started choking. The doc sedated and cleared the problem out. We waited for about 35 minutes, and he was very talkative, and explanatory about giving horses shot, and the way to do it. I enjoyed it, and was amused at the "lecture" Would have loved to get into the Equine vet tech stuff.

does anyone know about a disease in German Shepherds called Degenerative Myelopathy where it starts in back legs, dog goes down, can't get up, travels up spine, attacks front legs, and settles in brain stem...tears

I will check my book on it and see what I can find, I also have a friend who owns German Shepherds, I will ask her if she knows of anything. In the meantime, try to google it, maybe you can find out something..
