 not really a hard thing to do heavenly. I grew up without a dad (died in the AF when I was 7) and I had a strong mother. hell my grandma still mows her 2 acres of grass and she has had a mastectomy, back surgery, several minor heart attacks and strokes. can't keep us women down and we can function without bein treated like children...just fine

why can't they tax things I don't like????? when did it stop becoming all about me???  seriously...I think these taxes are getting out of hand though. If you tax one person's "sin" tax them all....like chocolate or sweets. I don't eat sweets...so tax those...they aren't healthy either |

All through my boy's school years there were soda and potato chip vending machines... who gives a crap what someone buys with their food stamps..  Why does every body care soooooo much about what others do? If their not hurting you..why bother to worry about it? Cuz some people have to have someone to blame something on, anything.. ugh |

I didn't see how it affected food stamps any more than those not on food stamps.

Help me out here, all you BHOBNer, Liberals. Where ya'll at? Don't worry we are here. The tax on sugary beverages most likely won't pass. Though he is willing to look at almost anything. An who will determine what is considered a junk food?  The same folks who decided on the Tobacco Tax. What happened to the tobbacco lobbyists? An when they raised the tax on cigarettes, I went to makin my own. If by some insane reason this got passed I'd simply start makin my own soda. I know how to make root beer an ginger ale myself. did the same. Soda , nah, I found healthy cheap substitutes for that 20 years ago.

GREAT!!!!! I told ya'll so. first they tax the crap outta my smokes now they want to tax the crap outta my Dr Pepper???? who do I need to smack around????  Start with your congress-critters! I'm not a politician fan anyway. I'll be doing a lot of smacking. hopefully it won't get passed. I am a grown woman, so I can decide what to put into my body...#1. #2 I have raised a boy that is now 18 and he turned out just fine without the governments help You may not have availed yourself of financial support benefits for your child but your life and that of your child has been helped immensely by the government every day of your life. I think we Americans are so used to our conveniences we forget where they came from. |

Many people don't have the support of family members or friends that can take them in to help in hard times either. I wouldn't call that babysitting. And Obama's own mom had to resort to help financially from the governement and looks like he did well too. |

I gave up soda like in my twenties so this won't effect me. I am attempting to quit smoking right now so I will not be making my contributions to the tax pool on that level anymore. I will have to find another way to contribute though, gotta do my part in keeping this country great.

Besides Obama didn't start all the raises in taxes on cigs. My own state raised them 3 times before the time Obama had anything to do with it. |
