I feel, if one works, and lives in an humanitarian way...who spends
their lives serving their fellow man, and caring for their Earth, this 'gift' that we walk upon, then no matter how one arrives there, it doesn't matter. If through finding, a religion, through finding, Jesus, or Christianity, or Sufism, or any form, structure, non-form, or non-structure, we are all better off. And if a person, through being 'saved', not just 'talks the talk', of the gospels, and the bible, but 'walks the walk', in a gentle, and humanitarian way, consistently, and without arrogance and ego, then more power to them. No matter how one arrives, at their religion, their philosophies, their concepts, their whatevers, if they are 'doing thankyou' with their fellow man...then the world is a better place. |

Invisible, I can't be positive what it was you were going for with this
post, however, the way it has transpired, in my view of it goes something like this. You ask - "Who determines when sombody is saved" About the best answer I saw was - Jesus will, when the time comes. Then came you question 'If you feel you are saved, does that give you the right to interpret the Bible?' then of course came the natural next question 'And if your interpretation varies, who has the right one' The answer to these questions involved enlightenment that is given to a person after they are saved. This gift comes from the Holy Spirit. So NOW, we have: 1. God. God the alpha and omega, the creator, the father of all the universe. God originally created a series of rules by which men, through thought word and deed would be blessed by God with many good fortunes in life. I'am not Jewish, so I do not know if this was enough to get one into heaven or even if there is a Hell that the Jews can expect if they are remiss in controlling their thoughts, words and deeds. But in the beginning God thought this was good enough for the imperfect being It had created. 2. Jesus - At some point there was prophecy that fortold of a messiah, that would come and free the Jews, those chosen of God, from all oppression. But as it turned out, the prophecy that had for many generatins been interpreted one way, was suddenly seen as somthing completely different. This is when the messiah, Jesus, suddenly became God made man and instead of delivering the Jews from oppression, some believed he was there to deliver man from sin, but of course, only if they believed he was God and only if Jesus agrees that in the heart of that man is pure belief. 3. Holy Spirit - The order in a time line is incorrect here, but you'll see why in a minute. For the Jews, the Holy Spirit was to deliver the will of God to man. This was done in order to fashion the 'rules'. This was also done to inspire, through dreams of revelation, prophecy. Apparently this could not come directly through God for whatever reason, which gives the Holy Spirit a reason to exist, for only through the Holy Spirit can one 'receive, interpret and understand' Gods will. So to sum it all up. It used to be ok to believe in God, to worship God, to pray directly to God and to serve God. However, God could not or chose not to communicate directly with people, but rather, through the Holy Spirit. Of course we are talking about God and there is at least one occasion in which God chose to communicate directly - with Moses, maybe with Noah. Perhaps these two did not have a good link with the Holy Spirit?? Then Jesus came along, now it is NOT ok to see God as the ONLY one to worship, to pray dircetly to or to serve God through thought, word and deed. OH no, now, we must first believe in Jesus, who will decide if we are worthy to receive the gift of a vist from the Holy Spirit. In this way, we can then determine what God 'really' meant his will to be, BUT, this interpretation is only meant for the individual and only if inspired by the Holy Spirit. Finally, once we have passed the 'born again' test and received the Holy Spirit, we must now continue to pray 'in Jesus name'. INVISIBLE - You have indeed posed a good question. I believe you point to make. Could it be, that those who 'choose' to belive in Jesus have a much tougher route to take to heaven than one who believes that God, whatever their perception of God, is the alpha and omega, the creator, the father of all the universe. God originally created a series of rules by which men, through thought word and deed would be blessed by God with many good fortunes in life. To divide God into three, indeed creates a very diverse entity, so diverse that at times, one has to wonder, if we were made in Gods image, perhaps we were all meant to have multiple personalities!! |

Dont sweat it poeple, my previous post was a thought process in writing.
It was not meant as a slur. It was only meant to show how one person thinks, when trying to make sense of a faith whose doctine offers a labrynth of possiblilities. There are those, here who talk of being directed by, being filled with, even 'hearing', the Holy spirit. You all make it sound like you have heard some mysterious voice in your head, like a ghostly call. If that is so, you must be in the minority. UNLESS, you simply feel that by proclaimin to have been 'saved' you suddenly feel compelled to believe whatever you think, for surely those thoughts must come from that Holy Ghost. How many have you chased away because they have never heard some alien voice in their head, giving them some knowledge, or path to take. Something so completely distinguisable from their own thoughts, that it could be considered 'other oriented'? |

well, being saved you are saved by jesus christ. He laid down his life
doing the atonement. Not for him but are own sins. We are saved by Jesus Christ, baptism by the right authority, are works, and the desires of our hearts. |

The only one who can judge if were saved is Jesus Christ the son of god.
This all my beliefs. Anybody want to add to it? |
|
|

I agree with that Michael. Only God and the person involved know if that
person is saved. It's not for the rest of us to judge. I believe we can't truly know what is in someone else's heart. |

God will judge me in my faith. Jesus (no offense intended to his
followers) is but a Prophet. |

Abra, I love Dr. Pepper, how dare you waste it.
Sometimes my thoughts end up with a silly message. When I write, many times I have no idea how the thought will appear. I, even laughed at the last part, it just came down to that, ya know? |

Thank you all.
I think what bothered me mostly in a lot of posts is the phrase " You have to" instead of using "I would" or "I did". It makes it look like if I don't do I'm doomed. I'm not, I do believe in God as a single entity, I do acknowledge that Jesus is his son, but there is only one God to me. I'm in Him as He is all around me and He is in me as I carry Him in my heart. |

hmm if jesus died on the cross for our sins, why do we still have to be
saved? |
|

Saved isw not really a good word at least for christianity. You cannot
be saved its an on going thing. You need to continually endure to the end live gods will. You arent just saved because you get baptized. |

You may worship the son as you will. Peace be with each of us in our choices and peace also between us by those choices. |
