Alex, I enjoy target practice because it gives me an "out" I only
compete against myself. When I focus on the target, I am freed from
thinking about whatever is going on at the office, or me, or whatever.
When I am at the gym, I don't socialize like a lot of the people that
are there do. I put in the ear buds, flip on the ipod, and work my
program, currently a six day "California Split". It's all about
bettering myself. It's as simple as that. Lumping all men into a
stereotypical unit isn't fair to those of us that don't fit the mold.
I'm not out to impress anyone. We aren't all testosterone overdosing
gorillas, even if we may look the part. lol blushing

oh $hit i didn't mean to sound like that! lol sorry

i just think it's fascination with behaviour and how we all do what we
do .....i don't mean to sound like i have tagged with a value judgement

only in the same way that women are built to deliver and to be
penetrated...that yin yang thing.... we are kind of fundamentally
designed to be this way and how does that find it's way thru behaviour?

freud got all crazy into this ....not gonna go there tho....

heh hehe

Yeah, I don't know.... we have gotten this way through thousands of
years of conditioning and having said that, I feel confident that we
will continue to change as we always have. The roller coaster ride isn't
always smooth and straight. laugh laugh laugh laugh Mine sure
has not been!

"yeah, i don't know".... Zap said been thousands of years...exactly and
now we are intelligent enough to cultivate an internal witness, that
asks questions and looks at motives and chooses rather than runing on an
auto pilot program that is slow, has viruses, is outdated, and is
slowly deteriorating the motherboard....

we can look at how we are wired and we can learn how to make conscious
choices that may go against our desire natures but are the correct
choice s to make in a bigger picture.

did that make sense? lol

Makes perfect sense.

Simply put the welfare of the whole before your personal desires.

I think so. You know I'm not as intelligent as you are, but if I am
reading you correctly, I would say yes, it is difficult. Some are happy
to stay in the same old rut for fear of change while others have the
courage to step out and try to change the world for the better. That
would be you and Lee for the first two that come to mind.flowerforyou

peaceful co - existence does not have to come from pounding selfish
desires out of people, it can also come from pitting some desires----
the desire for safty, the benefits of COOPERATION, the ability to
formulate and regognize universal moral codes of behaviour---AGAINST the
desire for immediate gain, these are just a few of the ways moral and
social progress can ratchet upwards...

not in spite of fixed human nature but because of it

wont be long and the sun will be comin up over here think i might
smokin another one down and watch the sun rise. Their is never
anything to do butt always action to take.Action is about taking direct
steps, based on the obvious towards creating watt you want.doing is about
fulfilling certian conditions you beleive are necessary before you can
get watt you want.i know watt i want and i will never acheive watt i
want on my own.i am hopen that the  of humanity will be better
today mine is a bit tattered at the moment and the reality of hate
leaves me in asad sad state

these things apply to each other first as adults because it is by the
virtue of us embracing and EMBODYING the actions and behaviours that we
will be able to be exemplary as role models.
