Greed.... a fascinating condition.

Where does it stem from?

It is implanted from the cradle, or inherant? Or both?

Is it feeding the beliefs? And from where? From conditioning, and
environment?

Is it any different to fear? Is fear also inherant? Or condotioning or
both?

How does one manage a fearful child?

A greedy child?

I look at the children I come in contact with, the young people, and see
two different 'types' of child, young person, (as far as these two
responses go).

One child is dis empowered, a sense of hopelessness, and morbidity... an
infatuation with the morose, and the negative.

The other screams, and is intensely loud, and demanding...


and yet both appear to have at the root cause, the same thing...fear.

One fears never having...the other fears losing, and never having
enough.

How to manage both of these?

How to adopt different mindsets, and personal veiws, of how they see
themselves, and their world around them, and their place in this world.

They both appear to have similar, almost parallel beliefs.

That their affect on the world at large, their place within it, has no
impact, or is so small, as to not have affect..

One free to do as they wish, with no idea, no vision, of how they impact
that which is all around them, and the other, feels no matter what they
do, they will have no impact.

How to adapt these mindsets...how to show, that their very existance has
impact....whether in the negative, or the positive?

Teach them.

teach then ....RIGHT...

Teach them?

Teach a whole culture, a whole cultural era how to stop being greedy?

And how might that be done?

For the way I see it, to have any reduction in stupidity, global
stupidity with weapons, one has to get to the source, the root of the
evil..

So how does one teach nearly a whole global culture, a whole generation
or two, to step out from under their fears?

See my concern is, there may be little legacy for my grandkids to
inherit...the greed of the past 200 years, and the steady building of
arms, and the pointing of arms at each other, and at each country, the
bullying tactics that is going on the schoolyard banality, and violence,
is getting more and more ridiculous, and at the same time, more and more
dangerous.

remove 2/3 of them by natural disaster.

Start over with the survivors after they have learned some humility.

Ab, in the darkest moments of my own despair, in the blackest of hours,
when I twist this way and that...


It is what I want to resign myself to...

To go crawl undeground, in the only place I feel may be safe for my
children, and those I can drag with me, preserve, and let the rest of
the whole stinking arrrogant world blow itself to smithereens.

But I can't.

Because of the innocents that get caught in the cross fire....how many
innocent will and already are getting sacrificed? I cannot and REFUSE to
just shrug my shoulders, throw my hands in the air, and tell all of them
to go f-ck themselves.

I don't want to see it happen.

But given the things we have done to alter this planet it just might
happen before we can correct our error.

To be able to correct this error will require us to find peace and that
quickly and put all our efforts into fixin stead of fightin.

Kinda hard to find peace when ya got 4 billion people each hating some
small thing about one another.

Guess it must be time to get to work.

Only problem is where do we start?

act locally think globally.clean up our own backyards.if all countries
dissarm there is no threat to anyone no threat no fear no fear peacefull
people.Americans must be a very scared and fearfull nation ya all have
to tote guns,watt are ya scared of and why????

Then don't teach them. It's your choice. You can teach your children
your views and they may or may not accept them as their own. Would you
love them the same whichever way they chose to go? Is it that you are
frustrated that the world doesn't see things your way? Should they be
frustrated that you don't see things their way? I am really disappointed
with the anger coming from individuals that preach peace. Bull ****.
Lead by example and others will follow. Lee, my respect for the views
that you and Alex preach has lost a little steam. What was really
grabbing my attention and beginning to make me review my own personal
opinions, your consistency, has turned to disappointment at the
perceived anger, brow beating, and hypocrisy of your last few posts,
questioning the mental stability of those with differing opinions. This
is not how I see you two and it hurts to see anger like this coming from
two people who I have the greatest respect for. You don't have to share
my views. I love both of you the way you are. Sorry I couldn't respond
earlier as I have been in meetings with my sales people all day.

opps my bad wrong thread i'm truly sorry. My fault

I'm fine Lee, thanks Fred, my sales people do estimates
for my crews. Without going into lengthy detail, we repair homes that
were damaged. We also provide repair services for people who can't
afford the repairs and we absorb the cost. We also do ADA work for the
handicapped so they can have a more self reliant life. I started this
company to fill a need for affordable home repairs. The meetings today
focused on finding people in need through schools, churches, and local
government (social services)with the idea of having officials screen and
send us people who are REALLY in need of repairs, such as emergency
repairs because we are a small company and in as much as I would love to
help everyone, I can't. Economics comes into play. Once again Fred, you
don't know me. I go out and do the emergency repairs myself and
sometimes an employee will volunteer time to help me. I don't take
payment. I don't receive a salary. My choice. My housing, food, and a
little spending money is all I draw. My lowest paid employee makes more
than me. I do this by choice as I am not in this for the money and as a
result, I have two major investors, one of which we are currently in
negotiations with for 1.5 million dollars, so I can buy a boat? No, so I
can expand to Detroit and the Chicago area where I can duplicate my
effot, hopefully with some people who share my vision. We are not a "not
for profit" corporation. Too much regulation and too much red tape which
takes money away from where it can be better used. So, Fred, how are
things? Maybe you can share a little about yourself since I am sure that
I have bored everyone to tears by now.
