Unfortunately, the time machine only transports our physical body into the past -- as an Observer -- it does not let us relive our past lives. You might influence "your younger self" not to get married... But that will set off a chain of events that will prevent you from ever getting back to your present self!

Well this time machine can do both. There is a glitch however. If you go back in time into your own life to change something, and pop into your body of the past, you may very likely loose your memory of the future you just came from because at the point you arrive, that point becomes NOW and your future becomes unwritten at the point of NOW.

listen. laugh laugh laugh

That sure looks like a Reincarnation!
An interesting concept -- a Reincarnation Time Machine!!!

It is sort of like reincarnation, except you don't have to be reborn into a new life. You just go backwards in time in your current life and re-live it again.

Maybe id go back and meet Jesus, and see what the fellow was really about.

I would also like to go to the time of Jesus.

I'm afraid you might not find him if you got back there.

1. There is no real proof that he was even a real person.
2. If he was, he may not be the person you think he is.
3. I highly doubt he ever went by the name "Jesus."
4. There were so many guru's preaching back then you would probably end up following the wrong person.
5. You better memorize everything you know about his life because you will have a hard time finding him as he was not well known in his time.
6. Women were treated like property and often stoned and burned at the stake.

Meditation is a form of time travel......

Like when you have a dream.....wake up....go back to sleep and dream again......the dream's "time" is a couple of hours but then you wake up and only 2 minutes have passed on the clock.....

Meditation allows you to do this, as well

If I could go back and live my life over again, retaining the memory of this life, I would never have gotten married. I would learn about computers earlier than I did, and made a fortune on the Internet.

flowerforyou What, if some day or night a demon were to steal after you into your loneliest loneliness and say to you: 'This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more' ... Would you not throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse the demon who spoke thus?glassesOr have you once experienced a tremendous moment when you would have answered him: 'You are a god and never have I heard anything more divineshades

I read a book once called "Repeat" about a man who dies of a heart attack and he wakes up in his body of the past with full memory in tact.

He proceeds to live his life over and over. Each time going back a little later in his life. He finds one woman who is also repeating her life and they spend a few life times together. They also find one other person who is repeating his life who is in a mental institution.

It was a very interesting book. He finally reaches the point where he has his heart attack and he dies and is returned back to that moment of NOW. He then survives his heart attack and after having learned a lot of stuff from his many other lives, he decides to change his life from that moment on.

I dont know how I would do it, but I would there to help my son every time he tripped, every time he fell.

I would use it to be my sons greatest cheerleader in the moments I otherwise couldnt.

I would use it to make my son assured, that I was truly with him, every step of the way, because I would be there, always.

And, I would use it to go back to the time when I was 12, and set more stuff on fire, with hairspray, and a lighter.

Time travel:

Most of the answers were sort of flip as if the poster does not really take the question of time travel seriously.

(Going back to meet Jesus is unrealistic chocked full of problems since he could be a mythical character in the first place and since he probably did not really go by that name if he did exist. Also, do you speak the language? Could you ask around? Would anyone know his address? How much do you really know?) Unrealistic.

Going back in time to stop some political bill from being passed also has its problems. How would you go about it? Who would you have to see, bribe or kill? Could you even stop some political bill from being passed in this time? If so, how? Unrealistic.

How about going back to the Kennedy assassination and hiding out in the Texas School book Depository to see, watch or prevent the assignation of Kennedy? If you did prevent it, do you think it would change everything in our present or would things be pretty much the same?

Okay go back in time to Kill Hitler.

I imagine a guy went back in time to kill Hitler and he found him by reading the popular account of where he was and he killed a guy that looked just like Hitler (one of his many doubles) and thought he had killed Hitler. So nothing changed, except there was a little heard about attempt on Hitler's life and one of his doubles got killed instead. Meanwhile, Hitler and his top aids escape to South Africa and Hitler hides out for years, finally dieing at the age of 95. Another one of his look-a-likes takes his place in Germany and eventually is killed. It is made to look like a suicide.

It is ironic that you say this. I do meditate twice per day. At times three times a day if time permits it. I am at a constant state of relaxation and at times I do feel I am time travelling. So yes I agree on your assertions very much. drinker

If you could only see the past but not be able to interact( say if you were out of phase with the current time) I'd like to visit some Historical events. When Jesus turned water into wine, I'd be such a hit at parties... Did Oswald really do it? Who built those pyramids? Put and end to crop circles. The first girl I asked out and said No, was she really washing her hair that day? questions so many questions bigsmile there would be a the butterfly effect to consider if you could interact with the past. That would be a bad idea. You can't learn from the past if you could change it. Also if you could erase mistakes taking risks would no longer have meaning.

The premise:

Reality is a multidimensional matrix of probabilities and events being experienced by observers throughout time.

You discovered a time machine.

How would you use it?

I'd go someplace where my nearest neighbor was about 50 miles away by horse and put her in parkbigsmile drinker
