Topic: Text or Call? | |
---|---|
Seems to me there are people who would rather text, and people who would rather talk on the phone. With everyone here being so far away from each-other, for the most part, I thought it would be interesting to find out which one YOU would rather do to keep in touch long distance.
I like texting more. As a mom who has had and is still working on a career, it's simply easier. With text, you don't have to worry about answering right away. You can do lots of things at once, and there are no awkward silences. Not to mention the fact that it's simply easier telling people... certain things... in text. Now you. |

For me it really depends on who it is. For a friend it is cool to text, but if it is someone I am interested in having a relationship I prefer to talk. Talking is more personal to me and that is a good way to stay more intimate. |

Well lucky said why he'd rather call, and I thank him. I'd like to know why texting is so bad from the others, though?
And thank you writer... I was beginning to feel like a pariah! |

You can text me anytime you want. Unless you are an AT&T customer. For some odd reason I can't get texts from AT&T phones. |

I'd prefer to call instead of texting. I personally find text messaging people rather annoying as well as pointless- I mean... you have a PHONE, NOT a computer... you CALL and TALK to people on a phone... NOT send them text messages.

See, it's just hard for me to maintain an actual phone conversation. If I can't see the person's facial expressions, I get bored VERY easy. I dunno... just me I guess. I'm not into staring at the wall for an hour. I'd rather be on the computer, reading, cooking, playing with my kids... etc. With texting, I can do those things. |

Verizon. Me too. Text away! |

How about sending them a letter via USPS

How about sending them a letter via USPS My friend Jill still does that, and I think it's awesome. Thing is, I'm horrible about mailing ANYTHING. I've had the same book of stamps in my purse for AGES. |

I prefer IMing. I hate texting and don't really like talking on the phone. While most girls learned phones skills, I had a friend who talked like crazy. I could spend two hours on the phone and say 5 words the entire time. So IMing works. I have a full keyboard, I type much faster than I can text.

I tend to babble on the phone, and don't rather like talking on it much. Texts are more efficient way to get what you need said and get a response, while doing other things.
