I prefer calling. Texting can be fun on a break at work or something, but calling really is the best option I think. You can get everything you need to say out and still be busy taking care of other things as well.

How do you take care of other things?

Course, you probably don't have yowling kids in the background while you try to make dinner and balance a teeny cell phone on your shoulder while yelling "WHAT? WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR Y.... JUST A SEC... NO YOU MAY NOT HAVE A TWINKIE! CAN'T YOU SEE I'M MAKING DINNER HERE? OK anyway, sorry about tha... just a sec... WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE BABY? WELL COME IN HERE AND GET HER A CUPPA THEN!"

You can do the dishes or laundry when talking on the phone, any number of things, really, and still get your conversation out. You do have to be able to multi-task though. It's like chewing gum and walking, some people can do it, and others can't. rofl

Both. Depends on who it is and if its situational.

I dunno. Five kids make a lot of noise, even when they're QUIET! laugh

I hate texting. I took it off my phone altogether. I cannot send or receive. There has only been one instance when I missed it. That was due to not being able to receive a photo which was ultimately sent to my e-mail.

Don't even get me started on the idiots who text when they drive. I'd like to personally shove their phones up their azzes.

I have blue tooth, auto dictation, and satcom. So both depending on situation.

I hate my blue tooth. I've used it a total of three times. Want another one for free? I'll send it to you for the cost of shipping.

I just put that thingy in my ear, order auto dictation, talk, it types, order to send, and poof! You are reading it like you are right now. I have heads up display also. And GPS, and a million other multifunctions.

I don't have one cuz I don't talk enough to need it.

I prefer sticking the phone up to my ear and frying my brain cells the old-fashioned way.

Maybe I'm slightly hard of hearing, but the blue-tooth only seems to work well if there is ZERO ambient noise. Since the only time I would ever consider using it is when I'm driving it is pointless for me.

Yuppo. And 9 times out of 10 (now just HAPPENS to be that 10th), I have LOTS of ambient noise! laugh

Plus, I can text without even looking now. Almost as fast as I type.

I remember when I was teaching keyboarding, and had them doing drills, so I sat down and started working on some lesson plans on my computer. One of my students says, "Ms. Crichton! You're making us look bad!" laugh

I feel it's easier to text than to verbalize sometimes because I feel less inhibited.

I'm the same in person, on the phone, or on the boards... I'm very inhibited in all three modes.

I rarely text. Only very short quick check in type of texts. The people I talk to from here, all 3 of them, laugh have my numbers and I have theirs.

Unless there is no other way I prefer face to face talk, text and even phones are not my things.

On text people have to much time to think of what to say so it is hard to judge someone reaction to a question when in a text.

Phones I can't see there eyes, you might be able to judge by the tone of the voice (if they have a decent phone that makes their voice accurate) but it's nothing like the real thing.

Like I said sometimes circumstances make it that you cannot avoid text (chat) and phones but I prefer live people to anything else.

I dont really like the phone, although special people have brought out a chatterbox in me. Overall, there is a lot more personal touch to a phone call, whereas a text feels dirty and shameful hahha well maybe not but its just casual, for me it kind of loses the whole "I'm-feeling-you vibe." Hard to feel love from a text, although possible. If she was a friend or really amazing girl, i wouldnt mind text, but if I was dating somebody, i'd wanna talk.

I am a horrible typist and it takes me 4 days to write a 10-line text message. So I would rather talk.
