For all I care he could have given a high five to the Saudi leader or a kiss on each side of the cheek. It doesn't matter to me.

I would be far more interested in knowing if President Obama's visit did bring closer relations, better understandings, and diplomatic solutions in bringing stability, peace, and prosperity between the nations.

Respecting different cultures and idealogies is most admirable and respected between the two nations. I hope we can continue to have a good relation with Saudi Arabia and maintain peace.

People are unaware how influential Saudi Arabia is in the Middle East.

Yes, that is the main issue - bringing "closer relations, better understandings, and diplomatic solutions in bringing stability, peace, and prosperity between the nations" and "respecting different cultures and idealogies".

So that is why 15 Saudis hijacked the planes on 9/11, we forgot to bow when they got on the planes?

Guess it was our fault!

What on earth does that have to do with the rest of the Saudi population and their leader?

While your sons and daughters, brothers and sisters die to allow you the right to forgive!

Thank you very much but I am perfectly capable of forgiving and doing many things with out your permission or allowance.

I don't know why your suffering is so much more than anyone elses. People suffer, as soldiers and at the hands of soldiers, in the streets from violent crime, in hospitals where children die of horrible incurable diseases and on and on. You are not the only human being to have suffered in this life, yet you seem fixated on being the reason we live and breath and have expression.

Guide to International Greeting Customs

As you prepare to go abroad for your internship program, it’s worth taking a moment to study up on the regional greeting customs so you can avoid any awkward encounters with new friends and acquaintances.

UK: You will not encounter much physical contact in London. A handshake or nod of the head accompanied with a “hi” or “how are you” is all you’ll see here.

Australia: Greetings are usually informal, “hello”, “hi”, or “g’day”. In formal situations such as business settings, shaking hands and a “Good Morning” or “Good Afternoon” are traditional greetings.

Italy: Greeting kisses are the norm among family and friends. When meeting someone for the first time, you usually stick to a handshake. You might end the conversation with a kiss on each cheek. Some say right cheek first, others say no rule, but don’t go in too hard or you could have a clash of sorts.

Spain: Greeting with 2 kisses, strictly right cheek first, is acceptable at all times.

France: Within Paris 4 kisses have been adopted as the standard greeting between friends, left cheek first. The rest of France generally sticks to 2 kisses.

The bow was nothing but a motion of mutual respect. All countries are different.

If its mutual respect, then why is the White House denying it happened?

Oh please not it is a conspiracy too. Good grief.slaphead

This respectful couple (the Obamas) are so concerned about respecting other cultures? So why did Michelle "touch" the Queen when England has a very strict "NO TOUCH" policy where their monarchy is concerned?!

The Queen touched her first and that made it acceptable for Mrs. Obama to touch her back.

Politicians make mistakes! We see it all the time. Is it good? Of course not!

I hope that each politician (regardless of which nation) can show patience and understanding so we will not have to experience a war! War is nasty and those of you who have experienced it should know best!

Do you remember when President Bush didn't know the difference between a Shiite and Sunni when asked?

If this was a big deal for the outcome of this war is something you can decide, but yes it is essential to study customs, cultures, political idealogies, and history of a country.

Afterall, the best impression wins better diplomacies in the end.

I hope for the sake of the world leaders that they also go beyond the scope of understanding differences and finding ways to adjust or tolerate them to preserve peace.

How the US has such a great relation with China bewilders me today for they have two different idealogies concerning civil rights for the people?

As you buy that GAP shirt that is made in China for $15, a Chinesse 10 year old works in a factory for 18 hours a day to make those shirts. He will get maybe 3 dollars for that day. Some of them just sleep in the factory and continue a few hours later. How anyone can feel comfortable buying anything from China with their slave labor work force is amazing? It is exactly the opposite of what America stands for, or at least one would think so.

Nevertheless, I am greatful that we are in peace and not at war with this country. drinker

They don't die for that, they die for power and money, sadly.

Giving forgiveness is a gift to ourselves and to others not anything bad about that.

And it rains sugar plums! Your statements negate any sacrifice made by our brave men and women in uniform who fought for your right to feel that way. I detest war! I detest anyone who prolongs war based on lies and then bows to a foreign leader whose subjects killed 3000 of my fellow humans. They weren't all Americans you know! Can you forgive for them as well? Where is your respect for them?

If Obama wants to bow he can come scrub my floors because he is worthless as a leader to his people!

It's probably due to so many people doing the same thing I did, playing it over and over looking for Obama to bow, but he never moves from a standing position.

I have never been disrespectful to serving men and women. I may not agree with the reason for war, I may not agree with the politicians who start wars but serving men and women do so in honor.

Obama had dam well better show respect like he does or he will hear it from me and those like me for it. He is our representative and we expect him to be mannerly and respectful.

BHO was raised a Muslim! The WH has published many articles saying "He is now christian!". To bow to this Muslim leader in servitude, representing us all, was a "personal" feeling showing his weakness or appreciation of his post as our leader!

The WH is backpeddling on this so fast they hope to hide his error in the smoke of their tires!

It's like telling your date you don't have aids or herpes any more!

He wasn't raised a Muslim. When he was a small child he went to several schools including a Catholic school before moving in with his grandparents in Hawaii.

So am I forgiven yet D? This mans act cut me to the core! My brothers and sisters in service died so NOBODY in this great nation would ever bow before any man! His act was disgraceful and treasoness.

Can we now agree?

No forgiveness is needed. But we still disagree because you are saying it like it is a crime to us and the only one he offended was the Saudi leader.

He is our leader D. I want someone with ability and wisdom leading my country. You did the research and discovered his error. Did he? His staff did obviously.

I want a leader who doesn't need a teleprompter to express his views. Who really cares enough about people to care what they believe in or think is best.

Maybe it was an error on his part, but just ask a drunk driver..... "it was only a couple of beers! (for the 5th time at the scene of a crash!)"

He is unreliable as our leader. If it were just one thing, that could be a mistake, but he has shown us MANY!

We can only "enable" him once, after that he is a risk as our leader!

They all use teleprompters.

Coming from a family of soldiers and husbands that also served, one...Harry was in the special forces. Also served in Viet Nam. He would be so pissed to hear your crap (with all due respect). He had much to go through as you know. He had hills to climb and walls to go through. He made it.

He was more humanistic when he reached his height of spiritualistic life. He would be very proud of Obama. He taught me to have patience and open my heart to change. Harry, I thank you for that.

He taught me a thing or two about Muslim beliefs. My sons have taught me. They learn. They teach.

This country of ours is made up of many religions...one of them Muslim. Why is it so many cry muslim and whine about them so? Because a few have turned it around to be a bad word? There are bad muslims as there are good ones that actually follow there real and true one.
Same as there are so many bad "christians".

Now...I saw in another thread where you are all over the place about this bowing thing and calling Obama out for bowing to a King. Calling him a traitor. That another King doesnt bow to another King. Well, you were shown on that other thread that this was indeed an insult. He made a mistake, even if it hadn't been a mistake...at least he was trying.
Now you are here trying to start an uproar about the same damn thing. Only with a twist. Now it has become he was stupid to do this. Me thinks you cannot be happy.

He represents me, as well as you. I am waiting and hoping to see what I hoped for in the beginning.

At least he is trying to gain us respect again. He is trying to help. He has taken on many things. I hope he can handle all of it.

At least this president is thinking of all of us...not his wants and wishes. If he fails...well, he fails trying. Better than that last guy...he never even tried and failed at that.

My views haven't changed. I could care less about someones religious belief. Personally, I think we have been lied to from the beginning and our leaders in government made "Muslem" a bad word, NOT me!

Follow the bible, the Koran, the Book of Mormon or the Sunday funnies, I don't care, if it helps you to be a good person and makes you happy. I won't argue religion, I won't condemn or condone it! It is too personal!

Allow your leader to bow, justify his selling us out, that's your right.

I must leave for a time, I can't take the pain of such passiveness, such disregard for my fellow servicemen or country.

Go worship your God Obama who promises to deliver you while bowing to a foreign King!

I wish you luck!
