Topic: what's the deal? | |

I wonder why alot of what's written can be taken the wrong way so often??? Humor is such a vital and complex thing isn't it? Where are all the silly sarcastic 30 and 40 something people out there? What do some of you think about using sarcasm, teasing, and overly serious people?

What do some of you think about using sarcasm, teasing, and overly serious people? Lots of people have undergone humorectomies -- there's no getting through to them. My personal opinion is that being offended is a choice one makes -- and that choice tells you a lot about that person. Or, as I have often put it, "Topical satire is wasted on the wasted." |

95% + of the effect in humor comes from either vocal tones or physical things like making faces or tripping.
The reason so much good humor is wasted online is because people reading the posts can neither hear the tone intended, nor can they see anything like a grin or a sparkle in the eye when it's being typed out. |

Good written humor requires good wordsmithing. To wit:
Step 1: Good written humor requires good wordsmithing. Step 2: You are on the internet; the same place where you can find naked pictures of Britney Spears (during the ugly years) and Cr4ppy w4nk3r 5p3l1n9 l1k3 7h15. Step 3: Case closed! |

What do some of you think about using sarcasm, teasing, and overly serious people? Hi there! Interesting subject! I'm game for being silly as the situation warrants. I just wish we had a place on this site to do it. Just because you hit a certain age doesn't mean you can't have any fun. On another site I belong to, we're always having virtual parties. Those are hilarious! I appreciate good humor as long as it has a grain of truth to it. Also love to poke fun at myself. Look forward to reading what was said before me. :-) Rick |
