Yeah. Who knew cats did the yoga thing, anyway? laugh

Anywhoo- the truly frustrating thing about this place is in having to contend with the wet blankets here. I couldn't tell you the number of times I got called out by some humorless, on-the-rag jerk-off who was too self-important to keep his or her own mouth shut for a second. I have every right to crack a stupid joke or put up a lame weblink as they do to gimme crap about it, you know?

It's almost like someone should start a dating site for unfunny, humorless, too-serious-for-their-own-good wet blankets or something.

People without a sense of humor are the must unattractive of people. IMO

And I'll admit- I've got a rather twisted sense of humor, and some of what I might think is funny might not tickle the fancies of others- however, I don't go about pissing on others beers just because I've got a problem with something.

It's like the old saying goes- if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Insecurity. Any complement or insult can be turned around depending oh how it is taken. For example:

Hey, nice shirt.

What's wrong with it?

Or:

That's a f*cked up shirt.

Yeah, isn't it cool?

I've written to a lot of people that thought I was insulting them when I was poking fun at them. Now it's become sort of a test I use. If they get it and throw it back at me I know this is the kind of person I want to get to know better.

Sarcasam... I find most people online don't get it. It's even worse with irony.

I wonder why alot of what's written can be taken the wrong way so often??? Humor is such a vital and complex thing isn't it? Where are all the silly sarcastic 30 and 40 something people out there? What do some of you think about using sarcasm, teasing, and overly serious people?

This is part of a email I got from a friend.......

"What does the week bring for you. Anything funny? Planning to wax your butt???... you know something like that? "

Its sentences like this that make me chuckle a little bit inside. Its pretty awesome to see that people havent lost their sense of humor in todays PC world.

Our society seems to me like it disdains silly/sarcastic people, thats probably some of the reason that there are fewer and fewer of these people in todays masses. You cant seem to crack a perfectly good joke without harming at least 1 ego.

So here is something for all you sarcastic, silly, ironic people out there.

It's all in how someone READS the words and how they process them. Especially with the english language which has so many homonyms and (damn I forget the other word for 'spelled the same way but have different meanings') double meaning words too. It's just way too easy for a person to READ things the wrong way.

Then when you add in sarcasm, double entandras (sp?), and teasing you can have a mess of interpretations that can make the whole context of what's written go awry.

I've had it happen to me way too many times on another site where what I've written down just didn't 'sound' like what was in my head. Whole arguements were started and feelings hurt because of the misinterpretation of the meaning of the words. Then when explained it was finally understood and tempers were dampened.

Do you think that serious people take words to be more meaningful than spoken words too?!? What I mean here is to them maybe, "Talk is cheap and the written word holds more credit!" Naaaaaaaaaaaa!! They just need to lighten up and ... well damn it ... learn to take a joke! hahahahahaha OOPPSS!!
