Topic: Supreme Court to uphold a ban on same-sex marriage | |

that's what I would think. it's not forced on any one on either side of the coin. but hey....what do i know

for me it is not natural...what i'm pointing out is the definition of marriage...not the act...like I've said before...in time it will be legal in all 50 states... I just don't see why it matters so much. No one is trying to force you or others to marry the same sex. It should not be an issue at all. in all honesty...I think it takes time...for lots of people to except that behavior...the thought of two men...yuck !!...and...double yuck !!...my biggest fear...is once it becomes legal and excepted...that lifestyle...will be openly taught and discussed...in our schools...right ?... Why does it bother you so much if two men get married? It isn't affecting your every day life, is it? No one is trying to force you to marry a man, are they? Why do you think that gay marriage is going to be taught in school? why do I think it will be taught in school ?...it's the next step in the total takeover of schools by Liberals...first...we need to get totally rid of the " G "...word [ God ]...then we can substitute it with the other " g "...word...gay...with each passing day...we're getting closer...look what Obama has done in just 100 + days...taking over private business...firing and telling CEO's how much money they can earn...handing over 40% of Chrysler to union workers...dictating what kind of car they can produce...nationalizing banks...nationalizing health care...all without congress even voting on these things...it's called soft tyranny... |

I will probly hang for this but ima say it anyways...
sex with a guy is gross to you just as the idea of sex with a girl turns my stomache... Someday the human race will grow up and act like the mature people they pretend to be. I doubt it will be in my lifetime but someday...I hope. |

What I can't figure out is why this is so hard for some people to understand or see. The thought sex with anyone who expresses nearly any kind of bigotry toward any major group of people turns my stomach. Someday the human race will grow up and act like the mature people they pretend to be. I doubt it will be in my lifetime but someday...I hope. I will hope and pray that you get to see that day Foliel. |

I will say this....I can't judge others because I'm not perfect either (yes I said it lol). there are things I do that others don't like. if we were all the same...the world would be boring. as long as someone isn't hurting themselves or others...I see nothing wrong with differences

It must be hard being that paranoid. I'll note here that while I disagreed with the whole bailout concept when it was pushed through by Bush and I still oppose the idea once done our government is now a legitimate investor in those failing companies. Exercising control on such things as pay for poor performance and the like is not out side the scope of any major investors rights, and I would hope that someone would do that on our behalf as it is OUR money those fat cat moron's who put the industry where it is, are trying to put in their pockets. |

why do I think it will be taught in school ?...it's the next step in the total takeover of schools by Liberals...first...we need to get totally rid of the " G "...word [ God ]...then we can substitute it with the other " g "...word...gay...with each passing day...we're getting closer...look what Obama has done in just 100 + days...taking over private business...firing and telling CEO's how much money they can earn...handing over 40% of Chrysler to union workers...dictating what kind of car they can produce...nationalizing banks...nationalizing health care...all without congress even voting on these things...it's called soft tyranny... Paranoia indeed! Again, I think a quote from Bill Maher is cogent & comical: Look, I get it, "real America." After an eight-year run of controlling the White House, Congress and the Supreme Court, this latest election has you feeling like a rejected husband. You've come home to find your things out on the front lawn -- or at least more things than you usually keep out on the front lawn. You're not ready to let go, but the country you love is moving on. And now you want to call it a whore and key its car. That's what you are, the bitter divorced guy whose country has left him -- obsessing over it, haranguing it, blubbering one minute about how much you love it and vowing the next that if you cannot have it, nobody will. But it's been almost 100 days, and your country is not coming back to you. She's found somebody new. And it's a black guy. The healthy thing to do is to just get past it and learn to cherish the memories. You'll always have New Orleans and Abu Ghraib. And if today's conservatives are insulted by this, because they feel they're better than the people who have the microphone in their party, then I say to them what I would say to moderate Muslims: Denounce your radicals. To paraphrase George W. Bush, either you're with them or you're embarrassed by them. The thing that you people out of power have to remember is that the people in power are not secretly plotting against you. They don't need to. They already beat you in public. [\quote] |

Gio...I still don't understand how it would effect you though. there are gay couples now. just not legally married. in Texas we have common law marriage...which really isn't any different than a couple Rose...I was brought up in a strict Catholic family...while you are focusing on the couple...I am focusing on the behavior...which I and many many Americans find abnormal...so...If I belive that behavior is wrong...then why would I want to sanction that behavior by making it legal... |

Their behavior does not affect your daily life. It does not affect you personally. No one is making you participate in a gay relationship. |

By the same logic then, should divorce be legal? |

The behavior is already legal as are many other behaviors that you may not approve of. It is not my place or yours to tell someone they can not exercise their rights to the fullest in a legal action or behavior. |

I am focusing on the behavior...which I and many many Americans find abnormal...so...If I belive that behavior is wrong...then why would I want to sanction that behavior by making it legal... yet do you truly believe your behavior is acceptable? because you and 'many many' Americans do not agree with said behavior makes others wrong and you and those 'many many' Americans right? |

I know I have done things some may not approve of, so I can't hold anything against someone (unless they are hurting someone)
what is wrong to some is right to others. |

I guess...on this board...it will always be...anything and everything goes...no standards...all like minded thinkers...I see most of the regulars are gone...let me put it like this...you can do anything you want...but...don't involve me...I don't want anything to do with it...afterall...it's still illegal...in 45 states...like I've said before...in time...EVERYONE...will be able to marry anyone and anything...they want...no standards...anything and everything goes...hopefully I'll be long gone by then...ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...for the 50's...
