Most who know me on this forum, would say that I am very harsh, and the kind they usually associate with Republicans.

However, I am not a republican, and on this particular issue, I think that an incredible injustice is being committed as long as gay do not have the same rights.

I agree with Lynnan, no one has to marry his own sex. I am not gay, but I do not see gay couples as a problem for me. I simply don't care, why should I?

But I do care that they are afforded the same rights, because by insuring their right, I insure mine against despotic government.

That being said, I think it is pretty stupid to ask permission from a government. To ask your government for a permission to marry is no smarter than to ask your maid for a permission to take the car out for a date.

Just do it anyway, it is your right, and let them work to ban it.

I think the reason that the definition of marriage is between a man and a women...without it clearly defined...not only will men be able to marry men...but...whos to say that men won't be able to marry a dog...or a cat...or have three wives...it's not so much anti gay...as it is...just well defined...and rightly so...

when someone can give a non-religious based reason for banning certain human unions then maybe there will be a reason for the ban

but as of yet the first amendment says:

""Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"""

to ban a marriage of two humans based on a religious belief is establishing said religion (by going threw the back door (you know like the servants have too)

You've said in the past that you are against gay marriage because it's unnatural. It has nothing to do with being able to marry a pet or have more than one wife. We're talking about marriage between two people. It should be the same for everyone.

Sorry, so if you marry a dog..?? Then what?? How is it supposed to be a problem for me? I am not the one to split my networth 50/50 between myself and a dog. If you marry a dog, it may be your future, not mine.

I say go ahead, marry a crocodile. Or even better, take a crocodile and make him your pope.

I'll support your freedom to do so, because that is what America is all about.

I suppose the gays can also add to their list of homophobes, racist, and bigots the Supreme court on top of their others...Bill and hillary clinton,President Obama, and of course every Christian in America. slaphead

Every Christian in America! How dare you even attempt to speak for the thousands and thousands of Christians who do NOT agree with your sanctimonious controlling BS.

You ever stop to think maybe we got the right idea? After all the only support they gays are getting are from the liberals and the gays.

ROTFLMAO. Man are you a **** never mind that is just so horribly wrong and so dumb I don't even know what to say. They have support across the board in every walk of human life. But you sit there with your blinders on if that's what makes you happy.

You mean every Christian in America doesn't think the same? No way. People thinking differently?

for me it is not natural...what i'm pointing out is the definition of marriage...not the act...like I've said before...in time it will be legal in all 50 states...

What could you possibly tell me that they didn't already take into consideration?

Probably everything. It has been feared that they would be afraid of the backlash and simply shuffle the case to a higher court as will undoubtedly happen.

I just don't see why it matters so much. No one is trying to force you or others to marry the same sex. It should not be an issue at all.

regardless of what people believe...it doesn't effect others. I'm not gay but it wouldn't effect me. they should be as happy (or miserable) as any couple

Why does it bother you so much if two men get married? It isn't affecting your every day life, is it? No one is trying to force you to marry a man, are they? Why do you think that gay marriage is going to be taught in school?

i look forward to that day. "that" lifestyle SHOULD be taught and discussed in school, as it exists. vilifying it doesn't make it go away.

um, and guy on guy is HOT.

Also, kids learning to be tolerant of people who are different than they are is definitely a good thing.

I agree. and the details (just like heterosexual relationsips) are in sex ed classes etc....and in most places (I don't know about all) are with parental consent. some parents don't want sex ed taught to their kids. that is their right. which is why they get parental consent

Then there should be no problem. If someone really insists on their child not learning about it, that's their right.
