Yeah I saw this too.

I firmly believe anyone who eats meat ought to kill, clean and prepare the meat they eat at least once. Sort of earning the privilege you know?

Yeah. When are you going to start hunting?

And while we are on the topic, may-be you should build your own automobile, before you can have one, you know, to earn the privilege.

LMFAO!!!!

I know people like that! I have to teach people who make stupid comments like that! I've had 2 hour conversations with people on how one's meat, eggs, and milk show up at the supermarket, because they had no frigging clue. And we won't even discuss how old any of that meat, and especially eggs take to get to the supermarket.

As far as hunting, for me, I don't believe in it. 1) there's plenty of cows, pigs, turkeys, chickens slaughtered to feed people. 2) when I actually meet a person who can hunt, and not feed deer corn, mineral blocks, etc. and sit on their ass in a tree or in a blind and drink, then I might consider changing my mind.

I'm not a vegetarian or an anti-hunter, but I have cut back drastically on meat eating. Except the kind of meat you get in the store where no animals were harmed. But seriously, it seems there's more and more cases of the animals getting abused by the meat and poultry suppliers. And that's just not right.

if people didn't hunt (deer etc) then they would starve, get sick or over populate. some slaughter houses the stores get their meats from are more inhumane IMO

Yeh, I call that BS. Humans are the ones who screwed up their populations by slaughtering predators who kept them under control, and did a far better job of it.

We can't even control our own rampant (and sick and starving) population, what gives us the ASSumption that we can do it properly with others?

I think you'd find far more people going vegetarian and vegan if they knew exactly how a slaughterhouse worked. But we tend to push that dirty little secret away.

I do eat meat, and chicken, and pig, but I'm not a huge meat-eater. I only go with organic small farmers for my meat, and my chickens provide my eggs, and live out their natural lives, rather then being forced to mass lay eggs and shorten their lives. Planning on going back to producing my own milk, but haven't made a final decision.

First of all Plz check with your state about thinning the deer heard...He!! call you auto ins and ask them..Plain and simple it needs done. For one the food supply cant support it, they starve!!!

FYI...I hunt and fish and eat everything I take...I also take great pride in the land and am always cleaning up a mess left by people who dont hunt!!! I do not bait nor do I sit in a tree stand drinking...

So keep eating your hormone lased meat and I am about to enjoy some snook I caught last weekend.....

PS Lets not forget about the revenue it creates...

Slaughterhouses are ugly, maddening, and overall....sick! They are terrible. The animals suffer greatly for people. They are not killed clean. They are injured, scared and a mess by the time they actually die. Sometimes they are not dead before thay begin the process. An ugly thing.

I am not prohunt...but....if one uses that as their only means of meat and used the kill for all the purposes they should be used for; then ok. I can't stand to see heads of animals on walls. It is wrong. People kill for pleaseure and that is wrong. It should be necessity, not pleasure.

And this is my response...

____________

Templter, then you're probably one of the few hunters who actually does that! I'd say 98% of the ones I know don't. I can go sit around Gander or Cabelas and listen to the fools brag about the lack of following up on what they hit but didn't kill. Heck Texas had to update one of their game warden laws a year or 2 ago, because there were so many animals being injured, not killed and were being left to die miserably.

And I stated that I go organic with my meat, milk, and eggs. No hormone crap in them.

I have many, many friends who are the same way..I really beleive you are talking about a slim minority...JMO You wouldnt beleive the crap we clean up!!! Not from any hunters!!!!

Again food supply cant substain the heard....Look at the cost to Insurance companies when they tangle with cars...

I respect your opinion and am glad you respect mine..In every aspect of life you have a minority of people that that just dont care..Have you been in the woods lately? What a freakin mess...You wouldnt beleive what people just throw out with no regard for the land, wildlife, or people...

I for one am glad hunters take pride in the land and clean up what others have trashed....drinker
