it is all opinion and interpretation (jmo)

I'm going to start petitions - gonna go anti everything under the sun

for examples:
One may want to save the whales another wants whales in soup

one may want to save the manatees another wants to harpoon the manatees

One may want to show family values another wants to show disfunctionality

one may want to display religion another may want to display anti religious icons/idols

snowball effect, follow?

There should be no government sponsored display of religion specific material.

Why not??? Because it offends liberals? Our country was FOUNDED on religious values. And theres the freedom of speech and expression thing that certainly does not preclude Christians from expressing thier beliefs.

Before you ACLU nuts even start:
The seperation of church & state was clearly intended to keep churches from running the government, like the Church of England did, not to prevent people from expressing thier religious values, going to church, praying in school, etc.

YOu guys need to move to Somalia or somewhere that religion has no part to see what happens when you let people do whatever they want to do with no laws founded on religious values. I predict you get your freakin head chopped off with a a machete in about 2.2 seconds.

No one has a problem with peoples religious views, they have a problem with people using them to demonize those that don't share their particular values, or pushing your values on others.

The reason you might get your head cut off is NOT due to laws NOT FOUNDED on religious values, it's 'because of' those religious values in that country I beleive, is it not?

Allergic Reactions to Oranges

Although allergic reactions can occur to virtually any food, research studies on food allergy consistently report more problems with some foods than with others.

It turns out that oranges are one of the foods most commonly associated with allergic reactions.

Other foods commonly associated with allergic reactions include: cow's milk, wheat, soy, shrimp, spinach, eggs, chicken, strawberries, tomato, peanuts, pork, corn and beef. These foods do not need to be eaten in their pure, isolated form in order to trigger an adverse reaction. For example, yogurt made from cow's milk is also a common allergenic food, even though the cow's milk has been processed and fermented in order to make the yogurt. Ice cream made from cow's milk would be an equally good example.

Some of the most common symptoms for food allergies include eczema, hives, skin rash, headache, runny nose, itchy eyes, wheezing, gastrointestinal disturbances, depression, hyperactivity and insomnia. Individuals who suspect food allergy to be an underlying factor in their health problems may want to avoid commonly allergenic foods.

First Amendment to the Constitution:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

I don't see anything in there that says the states can't sponsor religious oriented license plates if they choose

I agree.

it is not govt sponsored

it is available at an extra cost

if you want specialty plate for something and can show enough demad for it you will get it as well

it is no different than getting an ohio state plate in ohio not everyone in ohio is an ohio state fan

the part that everyone seems to forget is *****(nor prohibit the exercise there of)*****

****excerpt from 1st amendment referring to religion****

it is a way to earn money and the state is making a profit off of the plate just as they do with any specialty plate

and they need the money

so make your specialty plate design and circulate a petition to have it become available

that is how it works

after all if they sell 30,000 specialty plates and make 20$ each 600k$ is a good lil boost to the budget

BS!

This thread starts out trying to make an unrelated connection between the availability of a specialty license plate in Florida, and the guarantee of separation between church and state laws.

The idea of a relation is so far out in left field it bleeds of religious hate!

You know?

There's a lot of old-folks in Fla kicking their last beechball.

I'd bet,
that's a popular choice for a plate!

The fact that any state would debate this in their congress,
screams of special interests involvement.
It in no way could be connected or considered as a possible infringement of the separation of church and state guarantee!

It's soo obvious you would thinkwhoa

it is a specialty plate. Correct?
As so it is a personal choice. Correct?

So if the Gov is not forcing this plate as the OFFICIAL standard version of their State Plate,
How can it be any other way?
