Dog is my copilot?

I think that's grand. My dog knew more about love, kindness, loyalty and faithfulness than alot of people I have run across in my life.

Yes I know it's god backwards. I just don't think that's insulting to either God or dogs.

Now...everyone outta the gutter! You are crowding me!

I think that the Jesus license plates look tacky. But...I am one of those people that don't like dice hanging from my rear view mirror.

in actuality (at least in ohio) you can be stopped for dice (or almost anything) hanging from your windshield's rear veiw mirror (including a handicap placard) as it obstruct your view of the road

i don't think saying you don't want to see those religious specailty plates wqill work as a defense (but hey you never know)

laugh laugh oops

the Constitution says nothing about states sponsoring religion. All it says is Congress shall neither support nor prohibit religion

Seperation of Church and State is mentioned no where in the Constitution. It was just an idea mentioned by Jefferson after he was President

I am well aware where the language concerning the separation of church and state came from...

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Where is it written that only the state of Florida has the ability to produce these plates? It is surely written somewhere...

If that is not going against the above, tell how it is not!

The above quoted law is not followed very well...

since Free exercise of religious freedoms is PROHIBITED in schools... 'or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;' is it a lie?

Hey AB...

Good point...

flowerforyou

The laws supercedes itself, I think...

Depending upon where you are and the local influence of the majority/minority classes the religion in school thing varies. The school's can allow for religious things to be expressed, as long as it does not infringe upon the inalienable rights of those who are not of that religion/belief structure. They cannot mandate participation and/or expression of any single one without enabling others to have the same ability.

'Tricky' indeed...

There should be no government sponsored display of religion specific material.

I agree.

it is not govt sponsored

it is available at an extra cost

if you want specialty plate for something and can show enough demad for it you will get it as well

it is no different than getting an ohio state plate in ohio not everyone in ohio is an ohio state fan

the part that everyone seems to forget is *****(nor prohibit the exercise there of)*****

****excerpt from 1st amendment referring to religion****

it is a way to earn money and the state is making a profit off of the plate just as they do with any specialty plate

and they need the money

so make your specialty plate design and circulate a petition to have it become available

that is how it works

after all if they sell 30,000 specialty plates and make 20$ each 600k$ is a good lil boost to the budget
