Topic: I will rot in Hell | |
---|---|
true story...years ago I was job hunting near Brookings South Dakota and
picked up a guy hitchhiking...drove some miles and he told me he was a pastor / minister at a small church somewhere in the prairie..and then he asked what my "denomination" was... Told him I thought I was more spiritual than anything..that I believed there is a force of good/ light energy that flows thru the universe we can tap into it and become a force of good ourselves..also said that we have been here much longer than the bible states and that we were probably altered thru our DNA eons ago by travelers from somewhere else... He asked to be let out and looked back into the car at me.. "you will rot in hell for your beliefs" he said.... cant remember if he thanked me for the ride... |

You will not rot in hell for your beliefs........Everyone has their own
belief on who "God" is and if they believe or not. As for me, I believe in God.....Jesus Christ......But, that doesn't mean everyone else does. |

When I was a little boy, my male babysitter used to rape me. This went
on for months before my father found out what was going on. I still struggle with my emotions some 30 years later. I feel that the emotional damage done to me has probably hurt every relationship I've been in with a woman. Oh, but back onto the subject at hand...I am really sorry that a hitchhiker told you that you were going to hell. I'm just glad nothing that terrible has ever happened to me. Perhaps you should hold onto that memory for the rest of your life and hug that memory everytime you need to reassure yourself that you can judge a whole religion by one incident with a hitchhiker. |

you said. 'Its what you do in this life that makes the difference, not what you believe.' ---------------------------------------------------------------- What you believe will shape what you do in this life else you believe in nothing. Without beleifs you can not accomplish anything in life. Your beliefs point you feet upon your path. |

spider..sorry for your childhood experiences....
and although I will never forget the hitchhiker..what he said only fortified my beliefs...I consider him a whack job... |

"He asked to be let out and looked back into the car at me..
"you will rot in hell for your beliefs" he said...." Some people's idea of God sounds much more like a demon to me. Why would anyone worship such a demon. If I thought God was like that, and it was taught that if a person doesn't believe in God they will merely perish, then I would surely choose not to believe. Who would want to live everlasting life under the rule of a demonic God? Please, just let me perish if that's the case! I want to parts of such a pathetic God. I don't care if he did create me. He can just go right ahead and uncreate me. I personally don't beleive that God is so pathetic. That would make me the compassionate superior to God. But surely it would be impossible for a mere human to be superior to God in any way. Therefore such a picture of God simply can't be true. |

I meant, I want 'no' parts of such a pathetic god.

Well myself think the story is awesome. As far as what one persons
beliefs are and will they rot in hell for them NO. Our beliefs are each differnt and at no time should one push there beliefs off on another. As far as the preacher man and his words to you for your beliefs. It seems to me that he did not learn God's words or beliefs and should go back and re-group. For never have I every heard that God turned his back on anyone for what they believed in. Instead he tried to spread the word in hopes that others would see also. Hummmm I don't go to church nor do I go just on Easter or Christmas But.... I do believe in God. I don't feel as if I must go to church in order to believe nor will I go only a few times a year for a showing. To each there own as far as there beliefs. To put someone down for what there beliefs to me is being shallow. No one in this world is perfect nor will ever be. And it is so very true that the way we live our lives and the things we do is what will make a difference. Treat others as we would like them to treat us. Regardless of what one person thinks no one should think at anytime that all should believe as they do. We are all differnt in our ways and thinking, instead we should let each person have there own beliefs and not judge one for what they chose to do with there own lives. As long as it is not interferring with your life take them as they are and let them be themselves. |

I am surprised that he said you would rot in hell. I would have thought
he would have said you would burn up in hell. Hmmm, I am wondering what is worse now; Rotting in hell or burning in hell. Oh, well, Welcome to hell. |

Well, if a pastor was able to clearly see that you'll be rotting in hell
for THAT, then I'll surely be in hell for several eternities for my misdeeds! Damn good thing that pastor wasnt elected Supreme Being of the Universe. |

Amazing Satan said he would be like the most High. Then dante comes
along and writes a play about the underworld and it becomes truth. The doctrine of hell is from the father of lies/satan/helel. If we rot in hell being alive then we would have eternal life and satan would have his kingdom. Yet The messiah said "fear him who is able to destroy body and soul/life. Amazing how lies and tradition is what the world loves.. miles |
