I wonder what people in Arizona did a hundred years ago before there was air conditioning?

did they think it was cruel that they didn't have artificially chilled air?

good point

prisoners are treated better than the honest hard working people alot of times.

don't do the crime if you can't do the time

I know a lot of roughnecks working on drilling rigs in the same 110 degree heat who would be more than happy to have a nice shady tent to lie down in

they wouldn't be too happy about the pink underwear but c'est la vie

alot of people like him and alot of people dont . and if you look at his record he has been brought up for civil rights violations many times . he has beat them everytime . he is popular with people because he saves maricopa county money by giving the the inmates a brown bag lunch for them two meals a day , by making them live in tents in the desert in the middle of the summer . i understand these people have done somthing wrong to be there but they do deserve to be treated like human beings.

maybe there would be less crime if the prison system wasn't like the Hilton to some. alot of inmates have a great life compared to some people that haven't committed a crime

anyone here legally has the rights as a citizen just like i do.

it's not about treating them like they are in the hilton . but makeing them live in tents with no air conditioning in arizona in august thats a lil much . reading the prisoners bedtime stories at night degradeing . they are still human beings , and as i said now he has the chiefs of polie and mayors from the cities of maricopa county going after his head he wont last much longer . he thinks he is above the law , he is not . he thinks he is the law, he is not .

they used to sentence people to hard labor. there are boot camps for out of control kids....how is this different? i'm sure they get water, food and medical attention

i stand behind....don't do the crime if you can't do the time

oh you havent heard sherriff joe brought back the chaingangs . like i said it's not about being willing to do the time , it's about the way they are treated . our government treated the terrorists in gitmo better then sherriff joe treats the inmates in tent city . sherriff joe has cost the county more in defending lawsuites then he has saved in cutting costs .

what's wrong with the chain gang??? put them to work. nothing wrong with that

wait till you get put on one when you get arrested for something that shouldn't even be illegal. it might happen, there are people who are convicted that are totally innocent. then let's see what you think about the chain gang.

i can show you pictures of the conditions of the inmates in there tents . i can show you court papers where he has been sued for civil rights violations as recently as 2008 and there are still new ones being filed by the people who he is stopping because they look hispanic . look it up smart guy , it's public record . the fact he has never lost does not mean the alligations are not true .

innocent until proven guilty. the prisoners were already found guilty

BTW...nothing wrong with brown bagging it. honest people do that too...why should the guilty have better?

not all people in tent city have been found guilty . no nithing wrong with brown bagging it . accept when you are given both bags at the beggining of the day and the food sits on your bunk in the 120 degree weather .

ill

Nothing makes more sense Than prisoners earning their keep.
Be kinda' nice to see prisons being more self sufficient. Grow and maintain their own food stuffs instead of having it shipped in.

Like I stated before. People can sue for any asinine thing.
If he is ever convicted, he should be sentenced to the max.

Otherwise, he's innocent until proven guilty.

some do, but most just don't bother with it. there are just some foods that you know wont keep and some that will. for ex, bean burritos are fine in the heat. But i wouldnt eat a tuna sandwich thats been on the dash at 120 degrees
