For some unknown reason, I just don't envision Rush Limabaugh at home perusing forum/dating sites like this... wringing his hands hoping/wondering if people like him or not. If I may be so bold to speak for him, I believe the first thing he would do if he saw and replied to this topic thread would be to thank you (madisonman) for the free plug for his show. In his type of business, it's always better to be talked about than not talked about (good or bad). He would probably ask out of curiousity "Are you jealous of my (his) success"? "Are your personal lives so pathetic and you have nothing better to do"? Rush is living his life and you (those critial of him) living your lives focused on him (in regards to topics like this). I didn't have the time nor inclination to waste time watching Rush on youtube. Sticks and stones may break Mr. Limbaugh bones, but words will only make him laugh all the way to the bank. An interesting observation I have here. I have yet to notice ANYONE post a topic about ANY liberal talk show host period (obviously not worth the time or effort- even about the likes of the child porno distributor and FORMER liberal talk show host Bernie Ward). This is not the first topic thread about Mr. Limbaugh here either (indicating some kind of weird obsession with him). To put it in perspective, we currently have a self-admitted cigarette/pot smoking, cocaine snorting (whose probably been drunk a few times as well) president who has the authority to launch nuclear weapons. One can turn Rush off anytime they choose with no residual effects... one can't say the same about the druggie Borat Obama. I thikn Rush kicked me in the butt on here a couple of days ago...wait..that was either fanta or madison  but I agree with you |

why can't people get that he is a shock jock and in it for the ratings???? it's for entertainment purposes what's wrong with having someone elses Viagara???? he needed a "leg" up  That's exactly what he is. But, there are tons of people out there who take him very seriously. |

I don't give those people much credit but I do keep an eye on him. My grandmother loves Rush but knows what he is. she has no life and it's entertainment to her lol |

That's exactly what he is. But, there are tons of people out there who take him very seriously. Sure there are liberal talkshow hosts who are buttheads too, they have their supporters that make them rich. Rush is noticeable because he has a loud mouth. I agree he laughs all the way to the bank, but believe me he's laughing at the buttheads that believe everything that comes out of his mouth as well and they are the ones supporting him financially and keep him on the air. I don't listen to any of them, I like my sanity and sleeping at night. |

Rush may have a "loud mouth" in your opinion but that still doesn't make him wrong about every single one of his views/beliefs either (those shared by his listeners). To say there are people that believe EVERYTHING that comes out of Rush's mouth can be equated to those zealous Obama supporters as well, yes? It appears in these threads about Rush appear to be more personal (irrational name calling) than ideological or philosophical differences. How he says something and disregarding the message. I find it extremely difficult to believe a person would/could disagree with every single view he presents. I would even suggest that those most critical of him aren't even daily/frequent listeners and are the truly narrow-minded. When it comes to the comparison between Rush's and Obama's drug usage, you're absolutely correct that I am no better than those critical of Rush. The difference lies in professional duties and responsibilites (side note- Obama deserves and is entitled to the same rhetoric Bush received as per drug and alcohol indulgences). Rush is not an elected official. Nothing he says can affect my personal life (unless I make the cognitive choice to allow it to). One junkie I don't have to listen to at all (with no consequences). The other junkie has the power and authority to deprive me of life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness with one stroke of a pen. Quantum difference. |
