In case you missed it..........

CBS/AP) Rush Limbaugh could see a deal with prosecutors in a long-running prescription fraud case collapse after authorities found a bottle of Viagra in his bag at Palm Beach International Airport. The prescription was not in his name.

this is the best spokesman for the republicans he is totaly flawed as a man. He makes 33 million a year is it any wonder he isa republican? Hell no he doesnt want his taxes raised. Its all about money with republicans.

you know i dont make very much money but i know people that have busted there but working two jobs saving money and going without to start there own business than busted there butt for another ten years then got rich to my way of thinking they deserve every penny

I remember a time being in a line for gifts for my kids for Christmas because times were really really hard and the kids shouldn't suffer. There was a man there walking down the line with his daughter making her give money to different people in the line to show her the generosity of being better off than others. I refused the money she offered me because my pride would not allow me to take it, it was bad enough I was in the line for the toys for my children. But I will never forget him teaching his daughter this attribute to carry through her life.

Greed is a terrible result of this capitalistic system of ours and those who are really thankful for what they have are generous to those who are not so lucky.

I have watched it happen within my own family. I have family members who were not well to do and became well to do and they lost their generosity. They became those mean minded, greedy, self depreciating people who actually believe that all poor people are that way because they are lazy, unmotivated, dependent, etc.... they forgot where they came from and they also forgot that they did not do it alone. People helped them get to where they are today.frustrated slaphead

I have always worked for myself, but I can tell you that it was always the working stiffs that payed me on time every time. Most of the well-off gave excuses and rarely ever payed on time, and then wanted you to jump through hoops for it while often treating you like a servant.

I also noted that some folks that were not all that well off but 'thought' they were, treated you less than respectfully as well.

I always went a few steps further for those people that treated me with respect.

Money too often makes people selfrigteous and ugly. Probably why I don't pity them much right now.

Given Limbaugh's history of racial controversy, and Steele's prominence as the first black GOP chair, this is a huge blow for the Party's image. Tools

Former Maryland Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele assumed the Republican National Committee's chair a month ago with great fanfare. The first African American elected to the position, Steele triumphed over a candidate who once belonged to a whites-only country club, and another who had distributed a CD that included the song, "Barack, the Magic Negro." Days after taking over the party's moribund infrastructure, Steele promised an "off the hook" PR campaign to apply conservative principles to "urban-suburban hip-hop settings"--offering the GOP a much-needed image makeover for the dawning of the age of Obama.

Hip-hop legend Russell Simmons hailed Steele's election in an open letter, assuring his friend, "The hip-hop community remains eager to hear the views of national leaders like you" But Simmons added a warning: "Don't let those who are angry in your base guide your choices or let the people to the left of President Obama push your buttons."

Of course, many of those to "the left of President Obama," including members of "the hip-hop community," greeted Steele's election with a collective yawn. Meanwhile, the RNC chairman made little noise at the 2009 Conservative Political Action Conference, with one exception that occurred only after he finished addressing a dinner banquet. He turned the mic over to Representative Michele Bachman of Minnesota. "You be da man! You be da man!" Bachmann repeatedly shouted to him. The awkward incident was among the evening's top stories on cable news shows, while Steele's jeremiad against Obama's stimulus package went almost unnoticed.

When Rush Limbaugh basked in the CPAC spotlight for more than an hour and a half on February 28, drawing boisterous, sustained applause from conference attendees with a stemwinding speech reiterating his desire to see Obama "fail," Steele took action. The following evening, on CNN's D.L. Hughley show, Steele attempted to reassert control over the party. When Hughley referred to Limbaugh as "the de facto leader of the Republican Party," Steele shot back, "No, I'm the de facto leader of the Republican Party!" And he mocked Limbaugh as an "entertainer" whose behavior was "incendiary" and "ugly."

Almost as soon as the broadcast ended, a firestorm of criticism erupted on the right-wing blogosphere. "It's not easy watching a black guy stumble around in the dark, but really, I'm trying," wrote Dan Riehl, a marketing manager who hosts the popular conservative blog, RiehlWorldView.com, in posting widely circulated on the right.

While conservative bloggers and radio talkers piled on, Limbaugh lashed out at Steele with a condescending on-air rant, barking at the chairman "to go behind the scenes and start doing the work that you were elected to do." Finding himself under fire from Rush's army of self-proclaimed "Dittoheads," Steele immediately sued for peace. "I went back at that tape and I realized words that I said weren't what I was thinking," Steele whimpered. "It was one of those things where I thinking I was saying one thing, and it came out differently. What I was trying to say was a lot of peoplewant to make Rush the scapegoat, the bogeyman--and he's not."

Steele's apology recalled a similar incident from late January, when Republican Representative Phil Gingrey of Georgia attacked Limbaugh for "throwing bricks" without paying the consequences. As I reported for the Daily Beast, Gingrey invited himself on Limbaugh's radio show the following day to grovel before the host. "I clearly ended up putting my foot in my mouth on some of those comments," the penitent congressman said.

But given Limbaugh's well-documented history of racial controversy, and Steele's position as the Republican Party's first African American chairman, his apology is more significant than Gingrey's. Limbaugh has, for example, mocked Obama as a "Halfrican-American" who should "become white;" he has called for a "posthumous Medal of Honor" for the assassin of Martin Luther King, Jr., James Earl Ray, and told an African American caller, "Take that bone out of your nose and call me back."

Steele's "off the hook" PR campaign is now off the rails. Within days, he has gone from being "da man" to just another "Dittohead."

you're too cute yellowrose. but now on topic, this whole objective with republican/democrat party is to divide and conquer the people of the united states. to give voice to the wrong initiatives that are taking place while everyone fights on party lines. these initiatives have nothing to do with parties. both sides of our congress are doing and voting for the same things, obama isn't doing anything different than what bush was doing, he's just better at motivating the poeple to believe that what he is doing is right for the country. bush just wasn't as eloquent of a speaker. these bail out bills are exactly the same as the one's bush pushed for. they are just repackaged and given another name, that's it. rush limbaugh is paid to keep people in the party game, fighting one another for what ever cause the 'powers that be' have in mind. same can be said for any democratic talk show host. they are all on the same side but they are trying to keep us on different sides. believe me, they are laughing at every one of you that wants to keep blaming the other party. ooooh, the best way to put it is this..... people are fighting over the things that these PUPPETS are saying. people might as well say "i believe what this puppet over here is saying" "well, i believe what this puppet over there is saying"
don't believe the puppets people!!!!

You blame Rush for these bailout bills, yet it is Rush who opposed them both when Bush was pushing for bailouts, and now that Obama is. You really should try to become more informed about the truth of what Rush says and does, rather than parrot his competition.

First you claimed that Bush and Obama were doing the same things, then you claimed that Rush is just keeping people distracted by party fighting, rather than pointing out that they are all the same.

I was correcting the appearance of the claim that Rush was supporting the policies shared by both Bush and Obama, specifically their joint support for bailouts.

If you did not mean to imply that Rush was complicit in the two parties both pushing the same agenda (the bailouts), then we are in agreement.

I should rephrase my reply a little.

The way you worded your post was unclear, and I may have misunderstood your claims about Rush.

"rush limbaugh is paid to keep people in the party game, fighting one another for what ever cause the 'powers that be' have in mind"

The above quote makes it appear that you are saying Rush is helping support bailouts by distracting the people. My disagreement (which might be what you meant all along), is that Rush pointed out that Bush was making a bad decision with the bailouts, and holds the same opinion of Obama's bailout plans.

i just listened to rush the other day interviewing **** cheney and he was praising bush's bailout to cheney. he was sucking up to cheney and saying that he couldn't believe that people were talking bad about it. totally threw me off, because i was expecting to hear him ask some questions that would have made the bailout look bad with out actually saying it. but he did just the opposite!!!!!

he is a puppet!!!! sorry to burst your bubble.

I haven't heard that interview, so I am unable to comment. However, at the time of the bailouts, Rush was an outspoken critic.

i know, i listen to all of the republican and democrat talk shows just to see if there is any points i might be missing. but it surprised me when he did it. he let cheney go on and on about how the bailout was still going to help america and rush was just brown nosing the whole idea and even seemed to kind of throw in his own thoughts as to why the bailouts were going to work for america. cheney kept agreeing with him. it was sickening man.
