McCain/ Palin rhetoric aside, the admitted drug use by our current president can be found in his book "Dreams from my Father". Self- admitted.

"I had learned not to care. I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though—Mickey, my potentional intiator had been just a little too eager for me to go through with that".

http://www.obamapedia.org/page/Barack+Obama's+Drug+Use?t=anon

If you choose not to listen to any of them, that's certainly your perogative (you are exercising your freedom of choice); However, your beliefs are still influenced by someone else in the media regardless. Rush may have a "loud mouth" in your opinion but that still doesn't make him wrong about every single one of his views/beliefs either (those shared by his listeners). To say there are people that believe EVERYTHING that comes out of Rush's mouth can be equated to those zealous Obama supporters as well, yes? It appears in these threads about Rush appear to be more personal (irrational name calling) than ideological or philosophical differences. How he says something and disregarding the message. I find it extremely difficult to believe a person would/could disagree with every single view he presents. I would even suggest that those most critical of him aren't even daily/frequent listeners and are the truly narrow-minded.

When it comes to the comparison between Rush's and Obama's drug usage, you're absolutely correct that I am no better than those critical of Rush. The difference lies in professional duties and responsibilites (side note- Obama deserves and is entitled to the same rhetoric Bush received as per drug and alcohol indulgences). Rush is not an elected official. Nothing he says can affect my personal life (unless I make the cognitive choice to allow it to). One junkie I don't have to listen to at all (with no consequences). The other junkie has the power and authority to deprive me of life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness with one stroke of a pen. Quantum difference.

I never said that everything Rush has to say is bull****, but when he says something intelligent and then backs it up with something totally ignorant it just means he's looking for affect. He's like Glen Beck who admits he's uneducated but calls everyone else gullible. They are brothers aren't they? Just joking.

Anyone that thinks Obama is a junkie, isn't very observant. The fact that he admitted to using is commendable considering others didn't have the guts to admit it.

My views are mostly influenced by my observation of the people on both sides of the isle and where I think they are coming from. I do listen to Rush every now and then and it seems every time I tune in he's being a jerk. I prefer to hear the facts with out the opinion of the person mouthing the facts.

Anyway it's a new day and the last thing i want on my mind is Rush....

On the same night he was offering the keynote address to the Conservative Political Action Conference, Rush Limbaugh drew criticism from an unlikely source: Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele.

In a little-noticed interview Saturday night, Steele dismissed Limbaugh as an “entertainer” whose show is “incendiary” and “ugly.”

"Steele to Rush: I'm sorry"

"Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele says he has reached out to Rush Limbaugh to tell him he meant no offense when he referred to the popular conservative radio host as an “entertainer” whose show can be “incendiary.”

“My intent was not to go after Rush – I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh,” Steele said in a telephone interview. “I was maybe a little bit inarticulate. … There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership.”

“I went back at that tape and I realized words that I said weren’t what I was thinking,” Steele said. "It was one of those things where I thinking I was saying one thing, and it came out differently. What I was trying to say was a lot of people … want to make Rush the scapegoat, the bogeyman, and he’s not."

“I’m not going to engage these guys and sit back and provide them the popcorn for a fight between me and Rush Limbaugh,” Steele added. “No such thing is going to happen. … I wasn’t trying to slam him or anything.”

No emoticons indicating laughter required or need. The smug sense of self-satisfaction in neutering another liberal with facts is reward enough.

Rush Limbauh of all people, 'you say one thing and it comes out another', what a load of crapP. Guess he didn't want to find himself on Rush's $hit list.

''There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership''

Now that is funny, let's make Rush's head a little larger than it already is. Leadership? Please!!

a lot of people do want to see obama fail just so they can say "i told you so" and cut down what he is trying to do right from the start rather than give the man a chance and see what he does before saying "i told you so". but then i guess that happens to every president. its a nasty little game between the dems and the reps

then you got the forum site where us average people argue it out, and sometime with hate

but then thats just my opinion on all this

anyway, great day to you all
