with faith anything is possible, but of course this statement is used to give a sense of hope but it seen that the word faith is now being used to either delude oneself and/or others just to push a religious agenda.

This thread will prove that faith is nothing more than a paranoid delusion by creating a listing of things that faith and God can do absolutely nothing about and/or have done nothing about thus providing sufficient proof that faith doesn’t exist beyond the mind and is nothing more than fantasy

Life is a fantasy. So if faith were anything more than a fantasy it would be surreal.

I will no longer participate in your threads, but wow...I do question your motives.

I do not see you being here to make friends or find love. From what I have observed, you are here to attack and insult. Nothing you have posted has been, in any way, uplifting or positive toward other members. If you were sincerely seeking knowledge or looking to broaden your own perspective with other members' views, that would be different. But it seems to me that your objective here is to anger people and to make the forum environment tense and combative.

And further....my bet is that you will reply with an insult to my character.

It's certainly a free world, but I think that, if you're going to keep attacking and insulting people of faith, I would prefer you do it somewhere else.

Faith is when someone takes an idea that may be fantastic and accepts it as reality without regard to evidence.

Faith there for cannot be fantasy to the faithful. Those that do not share that faith it must be fantasy.

Fantasy tends to be associated with that which is not apart of reality. However reality can be quite fantastic.

I think in most regards its the human mind in question that is the determining factor, not the idea itself.

You say with Faith anything is possible, but I don't agree. You must first agree that anything is possible to have faith in the fantastic.

The idea that anything is possible (in this reality) is just as baseless as most fantastic claims. However baseless it may be true, but without any evidence (which how could there evidence that "*anything" could be true)(*ie infinitely many ideas) how could we rationally consider it to be true?

Sounds like a fallacy from the get go to me.

Humans are want to confuse themselves, after all once you throw your hands up and say I don't know, or anything is possible it removes the responsibility to find out.

By voicing this comment, you are a "participant in Satan’s thread." This is the "logic" that truly slays me right here being displayed. You are like the dieter that blames the chocolate cake for existing after you have eaten the entire thing. General religion is open to debate or discussion of ANY and ALL religious belief or spiritual pursuit. Funches is well within his right to post here. If you are offended, perhaps you should take your own advice and simply not participate and ignore. You are also free to hit that report button if you feel he has broken any rule. Go on. Do it.

What kind of 'faith' are you talking about?

The physical world has limitations.

I suppose that having faith that the physical world does not have limitations would be misplaced faith.

"Abracadbra" ..Life is a reality fantasy is used when one can't alter that reality

What is it that you'd like to alter?

Where there's a will there's a way.

If you can't find the way, then you haven't got the will.

No one ever said that 'faith' is a piece of cake, or the life is a piece of cake.

No one ever said that anything is possible (except perhaps the authors of the Bible, and they claimed that Jesus was the one who said that).

But I think that needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

If you tell your child that they can be anything they want, does that mean that you are telling them that they can transform themselves into a dragon and fly away?

No of course not!

What you mean is that they can achieve anything they put their mind to achieving!

That's really what is meant by 'anything is possible'. It's just means to keep the 'faith' and don't give up.

Have FAITH that things can get better and go your way!

Instead of sitting around and crying because you can grow back your limb, just accept that you've been castrated and sex is not in your future.

Focus on the things that you CAN DO.

That's what it means to have 'faith'.

We all get a little excited sometimes with debates, but ljcc appears to be a very strong and well-intentioned woman, who clears embodies all the good things about religion.

Was it not Voltaire who stated that if g-d did not exist, then man would have to create him? There is a strong need for fantasy in our lives (or else, I would spend a fortune on Viagra).

And what’s to say that modern medicine would not be able to grow human limbs if you religious folks would stay the hell out of embryonic stem cell research. They already grew a woman a new windpipe and she does not require anti-rejection protocol.

"Bushidobillyclub" ..yes I agree that it's all in the mind since faith seems to deal with a lack of knowledge, wishful thinking, hope and belief ..fantasy seems to only deal with wishful thinking

"Abracadbra" ..you're describing self acheivement derived through an induced pep rally not faith, believers do not treat faith in that manner they seem to treat it as if they had a special connection to the holy ghost and then the holy ghost or god performs special services for them

if believers in faith can claim that because they have faith that God can heal the blind then you have to ask why doesn't faith also heal the amputee ..this question will force believers to place faith into the perspective of being nothing more than wishful thinking and/or hope and not due to any power that exist beyond the mind
