How about the lack of American Pride???
Letting the government take over and run this country whether they wanted to or (now a lot of people think) they have to. |

What do you think the biggest problem facing the the United States is? Socialism, and as a consequence, a third world country status. |

|
facing the the United States is? An ignored (by the Bush Administration) recession that could have been headed off. An illegal war in Iraq killing us and them. Too many people cannot see outside of themselves to empathize, understand and allow others to fight their own fight in life without judgement. |

facing the the United States is? The remaining members of Congress who are members of the Republican Party! |

The country has caught the "Katrina Attitude". Just lay down and expect someone to take care of everything. We should be the adults and stand up, help each other, and make ourselves what the American Dream really is. |

facing the the United States is? I believe most of our problems stem from our economy and the way it runs. Ironically, it was only designed to run for a few decades. We are just stretching our resources to keep a temporary system as a permanent system.... |

yet again..........
I would have to say....... ME........ |

facing the the United States is? The remaining members of Congress who are members of the Republican Party! Funny you brought that up Fanta. If you do some research the irony to that statement is the fact that MOST of our problems were started by democratic leaders under a democratic congress. Another peice of irony is the fact that now republicans are actually trying to do the right thing people hate them for it because they aren't agreeing with democrats. Kinda funny isn't it? Here's another thing to think about: Although most of the democratice party backed Bush and vice versa, the democrats who didn't were being labeled as antiamerican, or bush haters, or treehuggers, etc. The tables are already completely reversed as the democrats are labeling anyone not voting with them as antiamerican, or not being bipatisan, or Obama haters, etc. The only tragic part is the fact that people are buying it. Kinda scary how people can be controlled by mass media, that has been, in turn, controlled by by a government organization since 1917... |

that a sense of self responsibility has been replaced with the sense of entitlement. I say, if you can't grow or kill/catch your own food, and try to take mine away...you will NOT like me. We just need to try a new 'social experiment'...turn off all the electricity grids in a state for a month...and when the people see how easy life really is nowdays...turn it back on and pick a new state to blackout....equal poweroutages for all!!

Can't do that. Hospitals need to run. People at home need oxygen machines, etc. |

i can't get in to this because of my duty to this country, but this is a simple statement i'll make that i could go on for ages about. do something about it, leave the country, or continue to complain and feel like you've accomplished something when you haven't. me... life goes on.. you live, you die... why worry about anything when sooner or later it will all fade away.

I say try taking regulations off the market, and NO MORE BAILOUTS. If they cut back on social programs, people would find themselves much better off financially. I totally agree though. People feel entitled to everything. Taking tax money, then giving it to another group of people is literally the same as robbing the middle/upper class at gunpoint, to give to the lower class. It's just robbery any way you break it up. Doctors are much more successful when they practice preventive medicine. We would be much more successful if we did the same. Diagnose where the problem is and treat it. If there aren't enough jobs in the U.S. raise taxes on imports. Process is slow, but is the only treatment. Social programs are just like painkillers. Problem still exists, but people simply won't notice anymore. Another thing people don't seem to get, is the fact that there does exist charities. That's their job, is to go to the unfortunate. Funny thing about charities, is most rich people donates millions of dollars every year to them simply to lower their tax bracket so they don't owe the IRS as much. This can be used to our advantage. |

The food pantries are running out of food. The difficult time that we are having is affecting the charities too. |

electricity.... I think you hit the nail on the head right there. We'd all be far better off if electricity had never been harnessed. |
