Topic: What do you think the biggest problem | |

Only one?
The loss of jobs, especially in the manufacturing sector, to foreign countries. 30 years ago, the US was the worlds largest importer of raw materials and the largest exporter of finished products. Today it is exactly the opposite. Look around your office and probably 90% of everything there was made in China. I considered saying the decline of morals but I think that they go hand in hand. Business putting top-end profit over the good of the people. |

The country has caught the "Katrina Attitude". Just lay down and expect someone to take care of everything. We should be the adults and stand up, help each other, and make ourselves what the American Dream really is. i take serious offense to that statement...i dont see anyone laying down here in katrina country...i think our oversized government and poor leader choices has been our biggest problem. |

Spending trillions to murder people in a very unstable part of the world for no actual good reason.
I am amazed to be the first one to say that. |

People who complain about what is wrong with our country but do nothing to change it.

People who complain about what is wrong with our country but do nothing to change it. I think we just tried. 100 years ago, I'm sure that virtually every member of the House & Senate would have been tried for treason for doing what is today, the natural course of business in those institutions. Nepotism, kick-backs, inflated contracts, etc. Abraham Lincoln said that it's easy to be honest in the absense of temptation. I think that if we replace temptation with certain and serious prosecution for inside dealing in government, it would help more than anything. There is no "moral to the story" anymore. |

The biggest problem is people trying to consume more than they can pay for.......... And businesses and government enabling our consumption on debt.

I would say education.
America is not rated as one of the top ten countries on education. Other countries provide a better education for all of its citizens. Education is not a privilige but a neccessety for everyone to have including those who want to go to college, but have no money to do so. Educated people can help the economy, bring in better votes, make wiser decision in foreign affairs, preserve a better chance for peace, and ensure safety for all citizens. It can eliminate racism, hatred, bigotry, fundamentalism, and even discourage non tolerance from groups that preach it. If every citizen had equal education big changes can be made. |

...where ...the American citizen...are allowed to live, work, and pay their fair share of taxes. I took the above out of context to emphasize the obvious. Who's going to determine what's "fair"? |

Well, they have warned you back then, when you were on the track to bring about the minimum wage laws, that these laws will result in business leaving the country, did they not? Are you personally putting people's good over your profits? Are you seeking to buy the worst, the most expensive product there is? |
