Topic: The Wolf-pack Mentality...

I haven't noticed it too, too much here...but on other sites, I've seen a lot of the pack behaviour (Le Clique', mob mentality, etc...) when a person dares to be "different"... They may appear to be Wolves, but in reality are merely Sheeple...wonder why that is? What makes YOU different in the pack? it's actually more like those sickeningly-annoying high-school clicks than a "wolf pack". You know... the goth kids hang out with goth kids, the fashionista weenies hang out with the fashionista weenies, the jocks hang out with the jocks, and the drama geeks hang out with the drama geeks. It's almost like being in the middle of an episode of "Beverly Hills 90210"... or worse. As for me? I'm the loner no one goes near.

I can dig what you're saying, Fade...when I first joined here, I intentionally refrained from posting pix...it's amazing how differently people will treat you when they think they can "see" you... Ya and I agree, it may not even BE you .. but I guess I come into online stuff the way I am .. real & shoot from the hip. so i just naturally expect the same back .. Silly me eh?

I can dig what you're saying, Fade...when I first joined here, I intentionally refrained from posting pix...it's amazing how differently people will treat you when they think they can "see" you... They think ypu're hiding something. Otherwise, why would you not put up a pic?

That's all. geesh I use to have 18 pics on here. One or two is all I ask back. I don't distrust until you give me reason to.

There's many reasons why a person won't put up a pic, Shoes...whether for good or evil...the point is: It's not mandatory so why does the "mob" demand it? A pic does not speak a thousand words...especially when it's not real... In my years on the Net...I've met plenty of phoney people...& their profiles are just crammed with pix. I just think we should give everyone the benefit of a doubt...UNTIL they prove otherwise.

So Winx...all should have to pay for a few fakes? That's the mob mentality that I'm talking about...I was accused of being a fake, too...was even asked by a well-known member here... ...kinda' funny since I had already met in person a few Minglers even before I joined... The whole point I'm trying to make is: A "mob" could make it very uncomfortable for a noob...& they may miss out on getting to know a really good person... Which I think is lame....I got accused of being a fake and had pics, meet people from the other site and still was being called a fake...go figure...you will always have one int he crowd I guess.....I never make anyone not feel welcome...because it's just not me.

Pic or no pic, I can usually spot a fake, but then there's the issue of people having one or more fake profiles. Usually in those cases they do have pics of some sort or another and they can be a little harder to spot. So, pic or no pic...they can still be fake. DING !! DING!!!! We have a winner this adds to what I stated earlier a picture isn't going to convince of a person being legit or not. I think that is the lowest on the common denomiator for me to many other things to factor in.

I remember on another site, they were insisting everyone cam with each other to prove their identity. When it was suggested here I said no way will I do that. I've met tons of people on here in person. You want proof, just ask them. THAT'S the way to prove your existence. Friggin meet people in the real. That's right.
