Speaking of wolfpack mentalities, and just generally speaking the drama-metre, I seem to recall a thread in the not too distant past, where someone was hem-hawing as to rather or not they should "out" a fraud.

If all are to be given a chance, or the benefit of the doubt, shouldn't threads like that one be against the rules?

In fact, they are. One problem is the possibility that someone may have issues with another member, and falsely claim that this particular member is a "fraud." These things happen. For purposes of this site, anyone with evidence of a "fraudulent" member here is instructed to contact one of the administrators and inform them of the situation. These kinds of allegations have no place in the public forums.

Having spent a portion of my life around wolfpacks, I believe that to be an inaccurate portrayal of some of the events that happen on forums sites. To me, it seems more like a school of barracudas at times.

I've seen some of that, too. More often, though, I see a group creating threads that are solely for themselves -- their own insular, incestuous cadre -- and they seem to resent (or at the very least, to ignore) any "outsiders" who attempt to enter the discussion.

Which, in my opinion, defeats the purpose of joining the site, but that's just me.

There is always going to me a kind of wolf pack mentality because people feel that this place is thier own, and if anyone comes along that upsets the balance, or just upsets one particular member maybe, people jump in to try to 'protect' it.

Personally i dont give a crap for the place but its just a lot of fun to jump on people sometimes! lol

Isn't creating a thread solely for themselves also against the rules?

I enjoy the ridicule that will often times ensue when someone has such atrocious grammar and awful spelling that we cant even determine what they are attempting to convey.

People bring that on themselves however.

There is a revolving door of mofo's who post nothing but emoticons, now pictures, or the English is so bad you cringe, or they are rude, crude and downright F-ing stupid.

They come and they go. They are annoying, but thankfully they do not last long and some other freaking idiot pops up to replace them.

Whew, "venomous screed" rant OVER!

True. You can also add the people whose spelling is absolutely atrocious, but we're not supposed to say anything about it, just let it ride, because it's allegedly "insulting" to them to call them out on it.

Yet, it's apparently totally acceptable for them to insult OUR intelligence by writing that way, so we have to read it and re-read it about 45 times before we can decipher what the f*ck they're trying to say.

Also, please don't use words, terms, phrases, or colloquialisms to which you have absolutely no idea what you're saying. In your quest to appear intelligent, you only end up looking like more of a fool, especially if they're spelled or used incorrectly.

Don't forget that we are supposed to not post if we feel we cannot stop ourselves from being rude to illiterate posters. And by being rude, I mean actually correcting word choices, misuses, and spelling issues.

Can you distill some potatoes in her-ya so I can be getting drunk? I mean, I be trustes in you! drinks

That's why the TIMEOUT room was created .. to give posters a place to be duct taped or have their lips stapled to the wall.

Temporarily of course
