It sucks. You can't be online downloading anything and on the phone at the same time.

i had it, the service was real good, but the thing that sucked was if your DSL went out or is not responding, you have no phone, and you had to have DSL for it to work, i dont have it now but it looks like they changed a little.. oh when i got mine the guy actually threw it at my door like in the comercials, it scared the bejesus out of me... lol

I know this topice is about Vonage and all.

But if your not going to use your home phone a whole lot.. you could always try www.magicjack.com there phone service is only $39.99 for the first year and then $20 dollars for a yearly fee, not a monthly fee a yearly fee.

Check it out. Hook it up to your pc, plug your phone line into it and your all set in about 20 minutes or less.

Just a thought.

I didn't like it. And I was on 6 mbps cable line, mind you.
Quality sucked. For me, cell phone is all I need.

Vonage really was horrible from my experience. All calls had a lot of noise and stuttering. Couple the horrible call quality with the sales people that call you insistently after you cancel your account trying to tempt you back with a special offer. Never again.

These sales people are pretty dumb at that too.

My regular bill was 14.99. Now they solicitate me with their "half price" offer of 16.99. Now if I rejected their bad services for 14.99, will I pick them up again at 16.99?

I've heard the customer support at Vonage is beyond poor. If you have any sort of problem, they'll take forever to get it fixed, or will even muck things up even worse.

I'd be a little leery of using them personally.

I have Vonage and use it quite often. I've had several issues though and customer service is absolutely horrible. So, be wary. I'm sticking with them now until I find a better solution.

Yeah.. I just think Magic Jack could improve just a little bit on some things other wise it's a good over all service.

The only really good thing you have to lose is noting, you try it out for one whole month and if you don't like it you ship it back before your free month or try up is up.

If you like it then you just pay $40 bucks for the first time and next year you only pay $20 bucks that's it.
