of course we argue!...that's just because you are wrong most of the time though laugh

Says you! I am never wrong of course. laugh None of the so called "non-believers" in that forum ever are incorrect about anything. And the believers take that same position so it’s quite unyielding.

Popularity is overrated.

That's an understatement. It's actually a pain in the ass.

Why is when an intelligent out-spoken woman asserts herself and her POV, she is immediately called a pain in the ass? I think its more like a headache than anything else.

Its like the saying:

A man is assertive.

A woman is a raging b1tch. laugh

I'm pretty sure I was misunderstood. Noteriety/fame is a pain in the ass, not the poster.

Why would an online community cause someone stress? huh Who is taking this that seriously? If this makes you feel stressed out, you have no idea what real stressors are. happy

Oh believe me, I know real stress. Walk a day ......as they say. However, I do get my little feelers hurt sometimes when I see good people being bashed or ridiculed. I guess it's just the sensitive side of me, I dunno. I'm sure that what I would deem as unnecessary is way different then what someone else would as far as posting and the vibe of the "community". And it's always quite possible that what makes me feel emotional in regards to someone else doesn't make them upset at all!
I have witnessed some things lately that make me question the point of all of it. Some of those things could be related to a quest for popularity or acceptance, but done in a manner that, to me, is kind of tacky. But hey, what do I know?

Some people ask to be ridiculed. That’s kind of the idea I would suspect. They are what is commonly referred to as "attention hounds". Do I feel upset or hurt when those people get torn new ones on forum? No. Why should I? They asked for it. Any one of us has the ability to make a post on this forum. With a few minor rules we can more or less speak freely and with impunity. With that right comes a certain degree of responsibility. If you don’t want to have your words or thoughts questioned, then don’t post them for thousands of eyes to scrutinize.

Of course that is how I view it. I don’t know anything about "popularity" nor do I care about that crap. As stated the people who know me or are aware of my presence on these forums primarily post on the same topics that I do which would be General Religion and Science and Philosophy. Much beyond that, my intimate communication is limited to a few folks I have known for years.

As for this being stress, nope. Not for me. Compared with my actual life, this is comedy, stimulating conversation (at times) and a stress reliever. happy
