You have to decide how you are going to handle this but you know something that puts you in the power seat again. Keep it to yourself and make your decision from knowledge that he did not have the respect for you to tell you.

Lying about a basic fact makes me wonder what happened in those five years? A wife, child, prison, military service, business failure.

Makes me wonder about what else he has lied about since age is something that reoccurs so it is a lie that he would have to tell again and again and he knew it. And evidently did not care.

I would keep my mouth shut about this discovery and get him out of my house as fast as possible.
Since you can't predict his history at this point I would not put myself in a corner and confront him in private.

Check your credit and change your passwords ect. this guy is a con artist. Get him out of your life. Quick, clean, and with as little drama as possible.

Your one shred of pride is you never have to tell him why he is kicked to the curb. It will probably not bother him in the least but it will probably peeve him because people who lie are control freaks and he can't use this lie anymore.

I guess I'm just having a little trouble understanding how him being (35) as opposed to (30) makes such a difference. I mean, all the time you've been with him, you were fine with the fact that you thought he was (30), so wouldn't he still be the same person if he was really (35)?

I guess the only time I could really see this as being a problem is if some woman said she was 18, looked and acted 18, but was really 14.

I would think it would be more of an issue with the lie, rather than the age. At least, that's how it would be for me.

That angle I can understand. Its the lie itself and 5 years is really not a big deal.

I'd be pissed off if he lied to me like that! i'm sorry that happened to u!for me i'd dump him for the simple fact that age does matter to me... so with both of them in factor he'd be outta there...

Sorry for my disappearance. My internet cut out on me, but I have read through all your comments. I have also had time to think. As part of me did not want to confront him, because I did not want him to think I was snooping or anything. I just think I am going to be on the look out right now, keep it on the top of my mind, and be alert.

So I was doing some tidying up this morning while my boyfriend layed in bed sleeping. His pants fell on the floor so I picked them up, causing his health card (the medical card we use for our free health care) So I went to pick it to put pack in his pocket. As I was putting it away I happened to glance down at his year of birth.

He LIED TO ME! The f*cker lied to me!

To add to that...why have standards if you are willing to lower them???

Generally speaking...not you Tanya.

A lie is a lie is a lie. However, some people can't admit their age to themselves. Its dumb and superficial, but its how some people think. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna stop counting in a few years myself....lol.

hey my old bf geno5209 lists himself as 52 on my space, and i know he is 53 going on 54...so what is the big deal. as he gets older, he gets younger..WOO HOO.....pitchfork pitchfork
we all lie about our age. so do women....if i could get by with saying i was 5 years younger i would do it 2, but i can't u c....cause pixes don't lie.tears tears tears

so if he, this guy, that spends lots of time sleeping, and that is when the secret comes out, is too old 4 u, then trade him in on a younger model. and make sure u check out his birth cert...before u commit.

exactly... if you are looking for a loving, caring, supportive relationship, then that can't be found in lies.

Melissa, you are beautiful person. I would hate to see you stay in a relationship, just for the sake of having someone around.

I think I would rather tell people my real age and hear the "wow, you look great" comments rather than lie and then have them think I look crappy.
