Allen

Thats interesting. I do believe we have all lived life after life but I dont know if its always human to human transference or it can cross. And if so, do ALL organic life forms have souls like trees and bushes and grass. It seems like if humans have souls, everything else living would just as easily. .

I think Hinduism incapsules that idea. I'm not sure if there's other well known faiths that do or not...

I think there are several. Probably JB knows a lot more about it. Its just a hunch in my case. Im pretty sure Hindus believe we can incarnate as animals. The cow is sacred in Hindi culture.

Moo!

Cool Pic Krimsa... You guys are going to really hate me when I figure out how to post pics.

You can be proud of whatever you want, but you don't have to be a **** to people who don't believe the same things as you. It's the same old game muslim extremists, the inquisition and the nazis and everyone else who uses religion as a weapon have been playing since the dawn of man. My god is bigger than your god, my void is deeper than your void, whatever.

I hate christianity myself, but fighting it is an uphill battle you can't win. If it helps people sleep at night, why poop on their parade?

"you can't win"

Finally...A man who at least understands the odds...

smokin Religion convinced the world that there's an invisible man in the sky who watches everything you do. And there's 10 things he doesn't want you to do or else you'll go to a burning place with a lake of fire until the end of eternity.... But he loves you! ...And he needs money! He's all powerful, but he can't handle money!smokin

You're only referring to the Abrahamic idea of god. Despite the fact that we live in a total judeo-christian lie machine, there are other ways of interpreting god in the western world. That just seemed a little more than closed minded, you don't sound much better than all the other religious zealots right now...

I'm atheist and proud of it...thats a quote from George Carlinrofl rofl rofl

To Mr Carlin I would have replied "I'd rather go to my nothingness with a false sense of my Creator, than to my Creator with a false sense of nothingness"

And that is freewill...just wish I new which if any religion...was right...hmmmmm...kind of like playing russian rouletterofl rofl rofl

God is a touchy subject, you're going to get a rise out of people when you start spouting derogatory remarks.

The kicker is if you're living in western society you operate within the realm of JudeoChristendom. Our whole culture is shaped around Abrahamic laws and morals. Deny whatever you want, but we are all products of it. You aren't as much of an individual as you would like to think.

You win by saving yourself.

You cannot free the slaves, they must free themselves.

And with that unanswered and yet not so athiestic but very profound question, I must turn in and thank you all for for the opportunity to express my own opinions. Goodnight all.flowerforyou

this all what i have been saying. therefore, is worthless try to convince an atheist or nonbeliever. I just need to let them be happy, and at the same time amuse myself.

If that is so, are we not slaughtering our ancestors on a daily basis for nourishment?

Allen, its only the cows. In India they will slaughter bulls for food. In ancient India, oxen and bulls were sacrificed to the gods and their meat was eaten. But even then the slaughter of milk-producing cows was prohibited. Verses refer to the cow as Devi (goddess), identified with Aditi (mother of the gods) herself.

Yet more interesting info.Thanks...I believe I heard once that they consider milk as excrement. Certainly a bizzare concept to most western sensibilities...

"Let them be happy" as apposed to what? >Trying to make them miserable?

People are responsible for their own happiness. There is no need to think you are "letting them be happy." But thanks anyway.

I'm not so sure that it's worthless...On the contrary I myself enjoy the amusement of their discussions, be them pro or con. After all, even considering our different theological views we are essentially still brother and sister travelers on spaceship earth. To me it's an amazing prospect that we all inhabit the same basic parameters (this planet), in the same time frame. That's enough for me to want to engage anyone willing to explain their views, as well as allow me to explain my own, in civil conversation.

I honestly really don't care about what people believe. I mean if somebody comes to me and tells me he/she believes in flying pigs or holographic matrixes. I'd say: "Oh, how cool dude!"
Who the heck I am to try to convince people.
what is funny to are those who try to convince others
that includes christian fundies (rightist) who try to proselytize the non-believers and the neofascists non-believers who devote their lives attacking christianity (both of them are the same thing).
I don't post much anymore, but i'm always reading, and believe me this is even better than the circus.
In boring moments as tonight, I come around and post a few things.
Other than that I just laugh and laugh.

I find that kind of labeling quite distasteful and judgmental.

And rude and arrogant actually.

Who's a "rightest"? Do you know my politics?
And if you're going to disparage other Christians (assuming you are one), you could at least spell "Christian" correctly.
God bless brother!flowerforyou

All the same...Since you're distinguishing yourself so blatently from me as a Christian, I'd at least appreciate that you not take the tact that you're "Holier than thou". It's statements like the recent ones you've opined that make it harder to convince folks that my personal God is a loving and forgiving one. It only adds fuel to the fire for you to label and judge.

did i mention your name (or screename) as rightist fundie christian?
It seems that you labeled yourself.
I just said some rightist fundie christians without being specific as to the person, the same thing with regard the neofascist nonbelievers who show up from time to time in these forums.
