Card Drawn: Three of Wands



I have been working on our new design for the three of wands today and tonight when I drew a card from the deck, low and behold, it was the three of wands.

The three of wands is an exciting card. It is a group energy card. It's energy says that you are poised on the threshold of success and your past efforts are starting to pay off. You've reached an important milestone; you are on solid ground and have developed a new confidence concerning your long-term plan.

That certainly holds true for me today. We have only 6 more cards to finish and we will have our new tarot deck done. Yesterday I order a new printer so we can get our personal proto-type decks printed up. Then I receive an unexpected check in the mail today for some photo's I sold for a brochure last month.

Great energy!

When this card shows up it is telling you that you have gone as far as you can by yourself; you need an infusion of group energy. The group doesn't have to be large, two or three others will suffice. But the others must be people with whom you can pool talents and ideas. From this supportive base you will move toward the future with renewed confidence.

This card drawn today tells me that I need to get together with my two partners in this tarot card venture and discuss our next course of action and get our infusion of group energy and ideas.

The picture on this card is of three people who are on an exotic adventure and have just made a very important discovery.

Our new deck is a picture of three people with maps discussing their plans for a very important trip in seek of some unknown treasure.

This knight possesses a deep spiritual center that even he may not be aware of consciously. The answers he seeks are to questions he hasn't asked yet, but his relentless travels he somehow manages to find pieces of the larger puzzle and this keeps him moving.

If the Knight represents a situation, and since I inquired about the world here is the reading.

Some long-standing conditions are changing, moving forward again. Movement and travel is related to the knights suit.

Many people are actively searching for the spiritual side of life and there is a massive spiritual movement taking place in the world. Little by little people's hearts and minds are opening to the more spiritual side of life.

Card Drawn at 8:17 AM: Queen of Wands.



Queens represent female energy, the yin, the receptive qualities of the inner self and the female influence on society. They often will appear when you approach the completion of a relationship, a project, a job, or a pregnancy.

For me, this queen is the fire of creativity. She holds boundless energy and is driven by imagination and the creative faculty which is a power that appears magick to most people.

In this deck, our Queen is engulfed in flames, levitating her wand as she contemplates her magic. ~~In our new deck our Queen of wands is on a broom, flying through the air. The broom is her wand. The suit of wands represent fire as a wand is made of wood and will feed the fire of creativity.

I think some people mistakenly believe that I have painted these pictures on these cards. I have not. We have put together our designs via computer graphics using other artist's works. Our new deck is constructed from paintings by old masters. Some designs will have things in the card from four or five different old master paintings.

BACK TO THE READING:

This will be my card of contemplation as I fire up my creative faculty to create my personal reality.

(I have been accused of preaching the law of attraction and not practicing it and I admit I have been lazy in that regard. But I have been narrowing my focus on my goals and I am preparing to fire up the energy of this queen.)

In a reading if this queen represents a person, it is a woman who is very energetic and creative. Perhaps has her own business or at the very least works two jobs.

I drew this card in a ten card reading for a woman when I was first starting to do readings and it landed in the number one position representing the WHO OR WHAT of the reading. That means that the card is the 'significator' card for the person I am reading.

I looked up across the table and the woman I saw had long red hair, just like the picture. I knew this was the Queen of wands energy. (And it turned out that she was working three jobs and supporting her grandchildren along with her children.)

This is the energy for today. The queen in this card is focused on doing her magic. It is about using your mind to accomplish your goals. It all begins with thought and visualization. You cannot skip this step.

If you have a project you want to start this is the time to start it. But begin by your visual picture, together with your excitement and energy and emotion. Create it in your mind first, picture it first, that is the "asking" in the "ask and it is given" but in truth that is the command when your will and determination and intent are added to the mix.

So be it.

This card represents order in our lives and the authority figures, bosses, fathers, government, police, courts and society. Depending on the question and the position in a spread, it can have many meanings.



I jokingly describe this card "The ass hole in charge."

But if the card represents an energy, it represents taking control of your life or being in charge of it. The one in charge could be you, but if the question is about your job this card could represent your boss.

For me today as I saw this card I interpret it as an energy of taking charge and being more organized in my many projects which is what I have been doing the past few days.

The card today for me means determination and order. Rather than being the effect of everything and everyone, today is the day I take charge and push forward towards my goals and live with purpose in mind.

Yep I am the ass hole in charge today.

Card Drawn: DEATH




This card is very fitting for today since it is out with the old in in with the new as we begin the year with a new president.

But the Death card for me today means that change is necessary at this time. I have begun a new "get fit" way of life. It is out with the old and in with the new for me too.

The card tells me:

Transformation occurs as you release situations and relationships that no longer serve your purpose. You become who you really are rather than who you think you ought to be. That's the true meaning of dying in order to be reborn.

Transformation and metamorphosis awaken you to your own immortality.

My quest for the fountain of youth, life and good health has begun I have decided. I have intended.

With this in mind, we let go of old habits and we begin by changing our core beliefs. Can a person approaching age 60 loose weight and get fit? Does our advancing age mean we have to fall apart? No. Suzzane Sommers is 61 and she looks fabulous.

Superficial changes are not enough with this card. The old situation must be turned inside out. Compared to the tower, this change indicates that change is required. If it is not done willingly then something will slam into your life that forces you to change. Then, like the phoenix, you rise reborn from the ashes of your old life.

This is the perfect message for me as I begin my training and weight loss program.

The previous post was dated wrong. That was January 21, this is January 22.

Today's card is THE LOVERS.

The lovers card is more about DECISION than it is about love and marriage. But one of the most important decisions a person makes in their life is who to marry and spend the rest of their life with.

The decision referred to by this card is as important as that because it points to the fact that some decisions effect the rest of our lives just as deciding who to marry does.

It is a major arcana and a major fork in the road. But today's energy uses the lovers card to express HOW IMPORTANT making decisions are in our life.

Are you just living from day to day letting other people direct your life? What do you have to say about it? Are you being effect rather than cause?

If so, it is because you do not DECIDE enough about what to do with your life or your time, you allow others to decide for you.

Everyone wants to loose weight, get in shape, quite smoking, eat better food, etc. But they continue along their old path of habit because it is the path of least resistance.

Know this, if you do not truly DECIDE to have what you want and take all necessary action to get it, and if you continue to do what you have always done, and think about what you have always thought about, your life will not change much.

If you want permanent change you have to DECIDE TO HAVE IT.

That is the power of intention at work. It is not just an idea, it is a decision that points to the end result.

It is not just a choice between what is offered to you by circumstance or others, it is deciding to have it your way, the way you envision it.

So today, the Lovers card is not about love, and it is not about choice, it is about DECISION and how vitally important it is on the road to success in life.

This card was drawn as the first card in this thread and the reading was quite different. Although the basic meanings of the cards are the same, each moment will bring its own spine on the cards depending on the reader and it will speak in many different ways.

I have sure been drawing a lot of wands lately. Wands are one of my favorite suits in the tarot because they are creative fire and energy.




The nine of wands energy tell us that there is one last obstacle to overcome. One last challenge remains before we reach our next step or goal. You may feel that you have come to the end of your fighting powers, but you have the skill and determination in reserve.

You're in a position of strength. You will need to draw on all your courage and abilities, you will prevail. Start planning your next course of action. Think before you leap.

One last Challenge to overcome. Just when things seem to be clicking right along, you hit a glitch, a brief pause. It's a minor setback due to a miscommunication, but it bothers you nonetheless.

Once the last obstacle is overcome you are home free.
You still have it in you to overcome any obstacle. Don't feel stagnated. Stay resolved and disciplined, focus concentrate, set a deadline. Do what ever it takes and don't wave from your purpose. Card Drawn: Five of Wands (Reversed)



I think of the five of wands as the energy of the person who is having a "bad hair day."

It is a struggle with your inner self that seems to want to go two different directions. It is between your little self and your higher mind. The little self charges forward blundering its way through the day and ignores his better judgment which is telling him to slow down and let your heart guide you.

In the Spiritual Card reading today on the other thread it was the knight of Swords who alerted me to this little glitch that was starting out my day, and now the five of wands confirms it.

But this card was reversed and that is a good thing in this reading because that means that I can use the power of my will to reverse the "bad day" situation and turn it around.

In order to do that I take a deep breath and let my heart step into the drivers seat. I think kindness and gratitude which never fails to melt all negative energy.

So a reversed card is not always a bad thing.

I did not reverse the picture above. It is a picture of two knights in a competition. The white knight on the right represents the higher self or higher mind, and the knight on the left is the little self who is causing the conflict.

Today, the white knight will win and the bad day will be transformed by conscious effort of the will.

Card Drawn: Empress




Today I will question why the Empress came up as it relates to me. She is all about the physical reality, nature, mother earth, and the enjoyment of or physical lives.

Her message to me today is to focus on your home and your physical body and nurture it.

She reminds me of the abundance of the universe and brings good fortune in the material world. She tell us to enjoy the pleasures of the earth, and of the body and all its emotions and sensual pleasures. She serves good food and her home is warm and inviting. She is an excellent host and a great counselor.

Each time I draw a card it speaks a little differently. Just because a card has a traditional meaning that does not mean that it always says the same thing. The message is always a little different as it relates to you or the person you are reading and the current energy.

If I draw a card often and it keeps showing up, I try to interpret what message it is bringing that I am missing for it to have to show up again and again. Often if you don't get the message the card will keep coming back at you, but not always.

The subconscious mind communicates in images and feeling, not in words. When using the cards, think about what they are trying to say to you at that moment.

Card Drawn: Seven of Wands

---->No I didn't want this card today so I threw it back and drew another card.

-----> Darn I didn't want this one either... but it is telling me something in combination with the first card.

Seven of Wands.... someone may want to argue beliefs with me, or someone wants to take what I have.

Nine of Wands..... One last obstacle to overcome, be on the alert for one last battle or challenge.

I am too tired.

But I have been put on alert. I will not look for it, but if it comes I will know I have been warned an I will find the strength to defend my position OR meet the final challenge what ever it is.


Sometimes we just don't like the cards we are dealt but to ignore them might be a mistake. Instead, we need to see if we can gain anything positive by the heads up the cards are giving us.

Face the day. Face each problem or obstacle as it arises. If you are fore warned, you can mentally prepare yourself for what is to come and you can watch it unfold in a calm manner.

That is the advantage of the eyes of the tarot and the eyes of alertness to signs of the energy present in the moment.
