Hi Friend. Just got back from the first round of Christmas Partying.

Why do I always feel like drinking gallons of water after those things? (no alcohol was involved)

Why do we all feel the need to give each other "fluff"? I think I would feel better just not spending any money and all going caroling or something.

But there is a certain laziness creeping in regarding this...we'll bake the one most "traditional" but otherwise, even my 17 year old doesn't seem to care much (and my kids are real traditionalists, so that's a big deal!)

You probably should have done a pre-shopping trip yesterday because it's good medicine :)

Of course not.....you just haven't found "the one" yet. There is someone out there for each one of us. I hope you find her soon!

Last year I started a tradition with my kids..."Santa" brings them a gift card to Walmart or etc...they have to help the jolly old guy by purchasing something (their choice) for a charitable group of their choice. On of my kids, for example, packaged up 15 "gifts" of holiday candy/coffee mugs/playing cards/etc for residents at the state Vets home.

Today I passed a display of My Little Ponies...Santa has given my daughter one every year of her life. I called her to ask if it was okay that this year (she's 22 now)the pony traditon stay alive as a donation to Toys 4 Tots instead. She liked that idea and it is a great way for me to recognize the season, those in need, and honor a cherished memory all in one fell swoop. Cool huh?

I think that it's really not hard to make little changes that are big changes to someone else, and boy...it sure makes you feel good to do that instead of getting/giving "fluff."

Christmas has become more about gift giving that anything else. Even if the gifts are " fluff ".

Yeah. I am feeling better.

Hey Heather! Yeah...I actually had a WONDERFUL Thursday at work in ABQ this week...got to spend the day with people I don't want the zombies to get and even the 13 hour workday seemed nice! (Sick, huh?)

Well. Living in a small town like I do..I already know all of the women around here that are my age. The ones I don't know are all to young...lol

Well..I wouldn't mind living out there.

I'd be able to golf all year. lol
