Topic: How Obama Got Elected | |

71.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing) 82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing) 88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing) 56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing). And yet..... Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," even though that was Tina Fey who said that!! |

but wasn't it McCain that was running against Obama - not Palin like she said once (I'm guessing by saying the Palin - McCain ticket)

People who make under $80,000 are too stupid to understand taxes anyway.
John McCain said that, to a room full of rich people. On August 8th. Of 2008. |

but wasn't it McCain that was running against Obama - not Palin like she said once (I'm guessing by saying the Palin - McCain ticket) What's your point? The point the poll made clear is that the Obama voters knew more about Sarah Palin's (the VP on the opposing ticket) baggage than they did the ticket they were voting for. That's disturbing: knowing the dirty laundry of the people you won't vote for, but having no interest in educating yourself about what the guy you plan to vote for believes, has said or has done. |

I figure about 50% of the people who voted didn't know a thing about Obama or McCain and only voted for whichever one was "popular" at the time.

There is no corroboration for that quote anywhere on the net. There are lots of blogs and liberal websites talking about it, but no news reports of it. It would have been news if he had really said that. |

I think Obama got elected because people went to the polls and checked the box next to his name.
The election is OVER. |

How about the fact that many people voted for Obama because the McCain/Palin ticket would have been a nightmare!!
What about the fact that many people voted for Obama because they liked his policies?! Watch what Palin said on the Couric interview about how close Russia was to Alaska, btw. (Since you brought it up.) And a reminder - he won. Deal with it!! And have a nice day. |

I voted for Obama simply because McCain is very old and if he wound up croaking while in office, we would've had that puppet as President.

The reason Palin was more recognizable than her running mate is whose fault? how did she become so infamous, so memorable? |

Nothing that is said against any Republican is ever true No, that's not true. But a fake quote is a form of libel. It is a felony to attribute a quote to someone who didn't say it. Now I'm sure you didn't do it intentionally, but how would you feel if someone attributed false quotes to you? Take a look around and see if you can find one reliable source that has published that quote. |
