Yep, Adolph Hitler was a Catholic. I dont blame Christians of today for that of course but its something that cant be simply ignored either.

One thing I believe strongly about is that Christians should not gather to closely to any form of world goverment. This ranting and raving and bickering about political issues in the name of God must go.
I consider these folks to be worshipping the U.S. Constitution. In effect, a type of idolatry, actually. It gets the person of faith's eyes off of the walk that I believe God intends for people. I believe people can be politically active if they like, but why club people over the head with the God concept as if it gives them extra rights to anything else worldly. Jesus says it best himself: *************** John 18:36 "Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence" *************** And in another portion, Paul writes to the church at Ephesus: *************** Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." *************** What I might interject here is that this walk of faith is not one that is much concerned about matters of this world at all. In the above verse it mentions "we wrestle not against flesh and blood".... but instead, the battle is in another place, which as Jesus sais "My kingdom is not of this world"... and Paul writes the battle is against "spiritual wickedness in high places"... attesting again to a spiritual battle, not one concerned with earthly things. To me, it is vain for a Chrsitian to enter in to political arguments in the name of God. If one is to be politcally active, let him enter in as one of those of the world, as the government is of this world, not of heaven. Jesus Kingdom is not here, it is a spiritual place. Besides, according to world history, every government is going to come to an end and pass away. So much for the vanity of arguing politics. |

I think the Founding Fathers were essentially Deists thus their staunch approach to forming a religion free government and a "wall of separation" between church and state. The religious right has slowly been working on eroding this however. Getting involved with issues that they have no right in involving themselves such as public schools, abortion and stem cell research to name but a few.

The problem is that people want to claim this is a "Christian Country".... which takes the verse Christ said to Pilate "My kingdom is not of this world" and cuts it right out of the Bible. There is no Christian country. I believe these people are worshipping the Constitution as if it is a god-breathed scripture, which it is not... it is a man-written document, full of holes and mistakes, which will one day pass away from all but the history of this world, when in one day of the future, America is no more, and it is just a study in the history class of whatever government comes next. Christ and Chrsitianity will stay the same, even without the prideful United States. America isn't a "Christian" country (as if Jesus came here specifically and set up some kingdom in his name... "My kingdom is not of this world"... was the last statement from Jesus concerning his faith and politics...)... there is no Christian country anywhere on Earth... Jesus said "My kingdom is not of this world"... there is no scripture nullifying that and announcing America is now some kind of "God's promised land"... that is so much hog wash.... Heaven and earth will pass away, but his word shall never pass away... kings and kingdoms will all pass away... this country will go belly-up one day, then everybody worshipping the Consitution will be very shocked. It is vain for a person of faith to get caught up in political arguments. It is also vain to argue on an on about the scriptures. Enough said, time for me to move on to a different thread. Yamin stated she is not a christian. She is an Israelite... But Yamin...Even Israelites still need to accept Jesus(Yeshua) as Saviour ,in order to be saved.... and not by just the keeping of the law. Will just pray for all to be saved ....and leave it at that now. Peace to all.
