<~~~ Don't have insurance. But my kids do, which makes me happy.

same here
but my doctor is yelling at me about it
what am i supposed to do

Yeah, I have asthma that acts up sometimes and scares me a little more each time it does, because I can't get a perscription for my inhaler. I can affored the meds ($20 at Wal-Mart... hate Wally world but... won't get into THAT), but not the doctor's visit to get the perscription in the first place. I also badly need to see a dentist. Same thing. God alone has kept me from having a bad abscess.

Sucks, don't it?

I have got to go but I need to ask. What do you do for say like a broken finger? Cant wait for the answer but Ill bet its to go to the ER.I dont know if your working or not how are you going to pay for that visit. Lets go low ball figure of say $1100 for the visit. Which if you cant pay is passed on to those who do. Just this one visit, how many Dr office calls can you make out of $1100. Its not rocket science and heck even I can understand it. To me I would like to pay that $110 ten times to prevent 10 ER visits....We already do pay for that $1100!!!!!

i pray i don't get a broken finger because that's all i can do right now. if i did...i'd do what i could...otherwise...yea, i guess you end up paying it for me. i'm not going to try to keep up a $500 a month premium when i can't even keep the rest of my payments up in hopes that it'll be there to cover something that MIGHT happen. sorry...i can't do that.

Please, you deserve that care!!!We all do.. On a more personal note.If I could I would pay $500 month for you and have a peace of mind, I would. If you really look at it we already do. Only we are paying money for high cost procedures for low cost problems.

well, thank you ... but on one side of the spectrum we over qualify for the free or very low cost stuff...
on the other side our small business is one affected by the economy and it's getting very tough for us
health care is a luxury

There is no cure. But..they can be clean and/or sober for the rest of their lives.

yes they can winx.

and this NATION also could cure the ghetto..cuz face it...aint that one of OUR biggest problems???
the source????
The source!!!!!! Well that could be looked at the other way. The Ghetto, if you can make more money pushing dope than working a job the barely pays you enough to get buy. HMMMMMM Welfare could be look at the same way. If I can just enough to get by without working that job that pays not much more and I dont have the worry of health care. Hmmmmmm The cause is?

the cause perhaps...lack of ambition, feelings of failure, addiction, inability to find a decent job that is better than selling drugs and living on welfare, being pulled into a downward spiral. idk, Im just brainstorming.
I agree with them!!! We will Never eliminate any of them. We can fix some of the problems associated with them and just perhaps they will lessen. Health care is a biggie in all you have mentioned. Im just one of those crazys that think we are already paying( I will discuss my insurance cost going up and all the high cost ER visits for a low cost treatment ). But that is just my opinion..

the cost of healthcare is obscene, I AGREE.
The affordability is ridiculous, and sometimes I am quite sure its a conspiracy between insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies.
I will not talk about the docs treating the patients though, because for one thing they are covering their own butt, and tests need to be done, redone, and overchecked. although sometimes when you are so busy, things get overlooked. and sometimes its much easier to just write an order for daily chest xrays. they gotta cover their azzzzzz.......becasue at this point that guy they are trying to save...sure wouldnt mind trying to find a way to get him a lawsuit going on.

but. if you want to complain about the price of healthcare, many already have free healthcare. that cost of the ER visit to get their stomach tapped to pull off some fluids. or emergent dialysis. whatever it is. they arent paying for their healthcare....so for the ones that are paying, this makes our costs higher..cuz everybodys gotta make some money somehow. Im not complaining, but I am also not suffering from a chronic disease.

how do u figure we decrease the costs of healthcare?? well, we stop needing it as much.

You lost me here....but. if you want to complain about the price of healthcare, many already have free healthcare. that cost of the ER visit to get their stomach tapped to pull off some fluids. or emergent dialysis. whatever it is.....It is not free health care. The hopitals have to recuope their loss. And how do they do that?? Charge me more!!! Something IM paying for!!!!!! Recoup 1/2 of thse high priced ER visits and What do you have...SAVINGS!!!!!!!!

well Im in complete agreement with you there. but Im not sure how you intend to keep people outta the ER...make more immediate care places...make sure people are having regular checkups with their doc and taking all prescribed medications. I agree with the fact that people use the ER like a doctors office. BUT i really dont see that changing.

if you have free (meaning no out of pocket money spent by yourself)healthcare, well it DOESNT matter. which "office" u use.

as for using less invasive things to manage your illness. good luck changing that. potentiol for lawsuit would exist if all AVAILABLE treatments werent implemented.

I've used Acute Care a couple of times when my doctor wasn't available and I knew it wasn't worthy of the ER. We have a few of those in my city. It's a lot cheaper then the ER.
Maybe they should be building more Acute Cares.

We call them Urgent Care. The cost is the same for everybody.

There you are meant to say hi. I too am one of thoses lucky ones. Have been paying more and more for it. Since 1981 it has been the forefront on all our contracts. I have gave up things just to keep it. At 20 years I can Early retire, pay 75%...25 years, pay 50%...30 years, 25% UNTIL I reach medicare age then medicare would be 1st payee and mine 2nd....I dont want to pay more taxes!!! Im just putting my veiw out there...It has taken alot from me besides just the cost of it. flowerforyou flowerforyou

I empathize with those without insurance, I empathize with those that are unable to afford insurance, I would gladly offer a helping hand, however, when and if I want (meaning my choice) not up to the government to spread my hard earned means. Sorry just my opinion, I don't have much but it's mine, I worked for it, sweat for it and earned it. I pay a ridiculous amount for insurance but I need it so I pay it all the while I do without other things.

There are those who need assistance and others who think they are entitled assistance.

OK OK you are now free to attack. tongue2

I wont attact. Can I get you to look at over all costs. Hey I put mine out there. The costs are there wether you have insurance or not. Its is passed on. I for one have felt that in many ways. I dont want more taxes or to pay for more of my insurance. I just want people to see COST of something we would never deny anybody.
