it is easy to make promise's. But its harder to actually do them. It will be interesting

Yes, it will be interesting. It will take years to clean up the mess we're in and then we may see some results. That's when the "interesting" will come in.

he doesn't have years if it is not improving in 18 to 36 months he will have a hard time getting reelected

and will be said he is making excuses

but hey

what do i know

I actually believe no matter what Obama does, all of his shortcomings will be blamed on Bush. It will take a decade or two for people to wise up...

The aftermath of this election is separating the thoughtful opposition (Thomas27, Giacamo, Nutz, others) from the true right-wing nut jobs.

You made a major step in proving the naysayers wrong. You've made a giant leap toward earning the respect of the world again America. Don't screw it up.

How do they respect us again. I have friends overseas who actually think we are quite foolish to vote Obama... But go ahead, believe the media...

The change we need will not come from Obama, nor congress as a whole. We need to make ourselves independent. We need to change how we deal with every day life, and start think about what would make a strong, stable nation...

*golf clap* bravo

 ...actually...my first objective here is to have some fun...my second...would be to add a differing point of view..."intelligent" discussion is a healthy and needed element ...missing all too often in the arena of debate...

Dictator Obama PROMISED "change" for Americans. I see a socialist country coming as a form of his "change" for America.
I do not feel safe when another terrorist attack hits America.
At least McCain had the experience of being in the service to protect us when this happens again.
What experience does Obama possess? Just that he wants to end the war.
Our soldiers our mocked what a shame this country has come to elect such a dictator.
surprised shocked scared

Dictator Obama PROMISED "change" for Americans.

He is no dictator as he ran for office and was elected not granted the position. Both candidates offered the American public what they thought would get them elected.
I see a socialist country coming as a form of his "change" for America.

I don't see it, I see it as a country which has realized we are in deep sh!t and must dig ourselves out of it.
I do not feel safe when another terrorist attack hits America.

Regardless of who the President is another or any terrorist attack would make 'everyone/anyone' unsafe.
At least McCain had the experience of being in the service to protect us when this happens again.

His service while appreciated does not make him more suited to lead. He did as he was told or did he make important decisions?
What experience does Obama possess? Just that he wants to end the war.

Those words alone for the parents, family, friends and loved ones of all those serving and those that have served offers consolation.
Our soldiers our mocked what a shame this country has come to elect such a dictator.

Personal comment, I have heard otherwise from some who served, some who are still serving and others who have friends/family etc. that have/had.

We already are bit on the socialist side. It happens every time that you pay taxes. You don't have a choice as to where they go. Hmm....the bail-out sounds socialistic to me too.

Dictator? Where on earth do you get that stuff?laugh slaphead

people are so closed minded
how about everyone giving him a chance...
whether you all like it or not he IS our next president and the only thing we can do as Americans (or should do) is TRY to stand behind him in hopes he'll actually do what he promises.
if he doesn't THEN b1tch. but you're all crying over a future cup of spilled milk when in fact the milk hasn't even been taken out of the refrigerator yet

but as opposed to not giving him a chance?
how would you show your rebellion?
what good would it do in the long run?

the negativity is profound right here online, among the streets, in public, people talking, arguing, you don't think it doesn't show? you don't think outsiders can see the way we are acting? how does that make America look? pathetic. WE have the ability to choose who runs our country. most other countries do not. and this is how we act? *shakes head*

The negativity is nothing new online, in person, in real life. People don't agree does not mean one is right and the other is wrong, people just don't agree. There are various ways to get to the same conclusion (jmo)

Why you quoted my question confuses me? If there is something I don't know or would like to know I normally ask. Are you telling me my asking is also construed as negative not information seeking?

the beginning of any good rebellion is to let the (so called) oppressor go on with the business at hand and show time support till they give you reason not to

Please.Bush had zero military experience and lied to get us into a war,to defeat a man who had nothing to do with 9-11,yet we kiss the Saudi's ass and all the terriosts were Saudi's.
Perhaps you should take an American government course and study the term checks and balances.
