Obama has what it takes!! However, no matter what he does, he still has to overcome eight years of terrible policies and decisions by George W. Bush. I think it will take a lot longer to repair the world's opinion of America. At least now we have a President who cares what the world thinks!

I know i sound like a broken record. But we need to stop thinking like this. This is what got us into trouble last time. People thought everything was great with Clinton, but failed to see some blowback brought on by his policies. Bush added to these policies drastically, dont get me wrong.

Obama hasn't proven anything to anyone yet.

The only thing he has proven is that he approved the bailout, and he approved the patriot act (he voted to reinstate it.

This is not a good start....But that does not mean he will do horribly. There is still hope.

Another thing we have to think of is congress. The president has limited powers. Congress has been responsible for many of our problems. Anyone that believes that congress is "fixed" now just because it is democratic, is sadly mistaken.

This "democratic" congress ignored their peers that warned us about this economic crisis, adn acted surprised when it came. Then their solution is to add to the problem. It was hidden behind a pretense of fear generated from surprise.

Please dear god people. Stop judging people by color. Red or blue they are just as guilty. There are a few good memebers in both parties, but they are the minority in both parties.

Listen to the good people.

Ron Paul

Dennis Kucinich

There are two to start with...

Be smart... think critically...

You know, as people keep telling the Republicans to get over it and move on I really have to apply the same thing to your thinking here. You can't have it both ways. Did Clinton inherit a strong economy after twelve years of Republican leadership? Maybe he did and he certainly took credit for it while he was in office.
Obama promised me that he would change pretty much everything, and I assumed it was for the better. Now you've (Democrats) got four years to deliver it. Stop making excuses and man up to the promises. If we don't see REAL change for the better then it was just rhetoric.

i find it ironic that there are excuses being made b4 he is even in office

the democratic party has enough muscle in the congress senate and have a sitting president come jan to pass any ligislation they want

there are no excuses 18 -36 months and we should be well on the way to recovery

they need to get rid of the fed resv to make any lasting improvement tho

the fed resv controls the money supply and nothing runs unless they say so (they need disbanded) let the treasury dept handle the money and have a revolving governing board of 7 congress persons and 4 senators over seeing it with one elected term limit on said board

they can also put term limits on all federal positions including the supreme court (say 20 year max) for court

twelve year max for congress or senate (and they get put into the social security program just like those they represent) how can you expect them to run it properly if it does not effect them

just to name a couple things

but hey i doubt it will happen

but i will wait and see

hope i am wrong and he turns out to be an honorable great educated intelligent good man (honorable being the key word)
