I tend to agree people believe what they want. It does seem like there is a lot of personal attacks in some of the forums. I don't see why a person has to be imasculinated or made fun of for their believes or called a drain on society for collecting entitlements. I don't agree with sexually based insults either but there is something to be said for standing up for yourself when you are being bashed.

Wouldn't it be cool if that were really true. I mean it would give us some level of hope for something more exciting then what we've got. A chance to at least dream of a bigger/brighter future. But at the same time, how badly would we screw up the rest of the universe?

Well yeah. I tend to be okay with people's religious beliefs of course like if they simply do not want to accept the Theory of Evolution in lieu of Creationism, hey, thats fine.

But some of the "alien" theories are a little more frightening and the reason I tend to be more apprehensive of that is they REFUSE to look at anything else and it seems almost "cult-like"

I had one guy tell me he didn't "believe" that the ice bergs are melting. Really, he thinks it's just plain not happening at all. And even if they are melting, there would be no impact on the enviornment. I can't believe his vote counts as much as mine does

Oh thats just bad. You would be surprised to hear that there is actually a large percentage of the American population that feels global warming and the modern day ecological crisis is just paranoia being espoused by "liberals" or "left wing tree huggers". They think its a hoax being perpetrated.

Im sorry but I watched a show just recently that actually showed footage of what the polar ice caps look like now and how unstable its become. The food supply for the animals there has been substantially depleted also because the normal ego system is becoming increasingly dysfunctional. Like the polar bears in particular. They are starving to death literally and females usually only have a couple cubs. Its sad.

Oh no. I vaguely remember watching it in the movie theater with a date. It was terrible. Really bad Egyptian makeup and kind of cheesy special effects. If Im thinking of the same movie. I think they were trying to claim the Egyptians were actually aliens and it was silly.
