Do I believe in ghosts? Nah. I think most experiences that people call paranormal are just them coming across something they can't explain and so saying "ghost". A lot of it can be explained. for example, y'all are talking about evps...see here: http://skepdic.com/evp.html Then there's the common experience of seeing something, whether it's a ghost or a demon or an alien or whatever, while paralyzed, usually after "waking up", and that can be explained as a waking dream...I had one of these when I was a kid, and it was freaky as hell and felt like being a wake, but it was a dream.

Also, in the video you posted, I don't even see a brick, much less someone throwing it. All I see is fuzzy darkness and some dork bumping around and shouting. Did the brick hit him in the head, or what?

No, the brick didn't hit him. If you watch it, you can see the brick, along with a couple of pieces of wood that look like they are being thrown.

close to the end of the video, in the bottom left hand corner is when you see the brick, and along with that video, there is an analisys, so check it out for yourself. true skeptics will never belive no matter what happens, or what they see with their own eyes.

Okay, watched it again, and I see the brick now...while it's on the table. After that it goes too dark to see anything.

Believe has two e's.

And no, if a skeptic will never believe, then they're not a skeptic, just a denier. Skeptics will believe when we're presented with actual proof.

Where's the analysis? Link?

There's nothing wrong with being a skeptic (is that spelled right, it doesn't look it). It's where knowledge comes from. Makes people work that much harder to find the truth. Otherwise, we'd still believe the world was flat and that the sun revolved around the earth. flowerforyou flowerforyou

Hey. you're the one that basically called me unreasonable by saying that I would never believe, but okay, nice it is.

Anyway, looking at that video...despite what that guy says, it looks like the brick was pulled. You can hardly see anything in that video, so it's silly of him to say that he would be able to detect a string, and the straight line thing is crap. The only reason I can think of that the brick would go in a straight line would be if it had a string going through a hole on both ends and was pulled along that string, and yet he acts like the only way for it to have been pulled would make it go in a straight line.

Think about it. Look at the way it comes up off the table and goes off. IF something had lifted it off the table and thrown it, then wouldn't that something have picked it up first? It doesn't look like it's being thrown at all--if anything, it's levitating diagonally.

Come back with something where you can actually see what's going on, and then we can talk. The landmark trait of videos "proving" the paranormal is being just dark, fuzzy, or distant enough that it might be confused for something paranormal.

 Thumper, I've been watching those shows too. I am a believer. Have been for a long
time. And there are a couple more shows on every
week that are great also. Paranormal, Haunting Evidence and Ghost Adventures. All very interesting.

so the brick lifting and flying on its own isnt good enough. and the theory of the string, monofilamint line,, aka fishing line, will reflect any sort of light that will hit it,, including ir beams. most are made of plastic or something like that. and plastic has a nasty habit of showing up under ir lights. ans as far as the skeptic comment that i said, its my belief that they will take apart anything to try to prove their point, never did i refer to you. but,, i dont see alot of people lining up to go into places like that hotel to get locked in all night alone.

Well, this certainly degenerated fast, now didn't it?

PingPong, welcome to Mingle. I don't think anyone called you unreasonable but that's neither here nor there I guess. The worst thing was that he said some people are skeptics. I can think of worse things to be called. I, myself, am skeptical of a lot of paranormal claims. There are some, though, where a logical explanation can't be found. I've even had some things happen to me. Because of my own experiences, I do believe, only because I can't explain. But, as I said earlier, someone needs to be a skeptic, otherwise knowledge cannot grow. We can debate, talk, have a conversation, even disagree but can we please try to do it with respect?

hahahhhahhahahhahaha BWwwhahhahahahhhAHAHHAHAHAAAA

Sorry, i just watched the video.

Funny how of all the places in the world this ghost could have been and all the things he could do, he chose a really dark room and chose to throw a brick!

I cant believe anyone would seriously suggest that video proved anything.

dan is the perfect example of a true skeptic, no matter what he sees, he will never belive. but thats his way, and he is free to it. i believe, and have my own reasons, and thats my right.

Eh, I wasn't trying to be nasty with the spelling thing, it's just something that gets on my nerves.

Anyway, I understand that there are things that can't be explained sometimes. My problem is when people jump on that thing that they can't explain and just make up an explanation for it. Just looking at history, that method has failed time and time again. I just think that rather than saying, "I don't know how this happened, so I'm going to say it was [ghosts/god/aliens/etc.]", we should be saying, "I don't know how this happened, so I'm going to try to find out and not go into my investigation already decided."

Nope, you show me decent proof and maybe i might believe.I would rather be skeptical though that believe everything i see. That video is truly laughable.

Also, in this particular instance, it would probably help if people watched the whole episode. The youtube clip, if you haven't seen the whole thing, is a little vague.

If I were a ghost, I'd spend my time at free concerts and movies.
