Scared, oh honey it was liberating for me to post in here. It's too verbose and philosophocial for most to bother with it, especially now that it's where it is. And only a select few are even aware of what I admitted to in here.

Weird, ain't it? I did a rant last night and it sort of felt good. Especially since there were a few who got it.

In a way, it's comforting to see that there are some who understand. At the same time, it's disconcerting to realize how many don't....

Sunday night I got a treat that only a geek like myself could understand its importance and significance. Another electronics genious and millionaire and I got together with a few freinds. A gentleman of financial importance bought one of jimmi hendrix' marshall amplifiers that he played quite a bit. This guitar amplifier SCREAMS!!!! Way more than marshall amplifiers of that time. The current owner wanted to know the question why this amplifier screamed. Was it modified? Was something changed? So we sat and had a beer while my electronics genious (and marshall amp guru) freind tim went over the amplifier top to bottom with a fine tooth comb- and a lot of other tools. He explained to us all about the tubes, capacitors, transformer, wires, and chassis and how they were all stock. He verified the amp had not been modified. Ok. Then why does this amp SCREAM?!! Upon checking plate voltage we found out that most 100 watt jmp marshalls run around 425 volts. Jimmis trusted marshall was pushing around 575 volts making it scream. Why? Because the quality of the components back then was poor. And tolerances low. So because of this- maybe a capacitor had too much composite material or a heat plate in a tube was a hair thicker than the rest or an accidental extra winding in the transformer- the amp was a freak of nature and screamed! I have one of those marshall freaks of nature "Holy grail" amplifiers. So do many other people. Jimmi was amazing no matter what guitar he played or amp he played through. A phenom of a talent. This amp was one of his favorites live and has quite a history. And I was quite honored to be there to witness all the technological aspects and questions answered about the amp. It was almost like jimmi was there with us sayin "Wow man, that's some trippy sh!t!"

I think the issue Mag means is that I am not concrete... that simply makes me harder to take. You need to read what I wrote it with an amount of empathy. That's all.
