If they weren't allowed to marry, they would still be allowed to live together, so they should be allowed to get married and be unhappy just like all the other straight married couples I know.

I am gay, but as has been stated by some others, I feel 'Marriage' is a religious term, and most religions are anti-gay, or at least anti-gay marriage.

Here in Britain it is legal for a gay couple to enter into a Civil Partnership with his/her partner, and have the same entitlements as any married straight couple. Why then, do some states in the supposedly multicultural United States, not to mention many other countries, have such a problem with gay people loving each other and showing their commitment in the form of a Civil Partnership? I think it is a shame that so many people in this world have nothing better to do than to harass people and call them 'sick' and 'perverted' because they simply wish to love someone and have the same rights as every one else. |

Because if you think about it, alot of our american system is devoted to religion. I mean our money says, In god we trust, In our pledge of allegiance we say one nation under god, our president is sworn in with his hand on a bible. Not to mention, the amount of population in the United States that is religious is very high compared to those who aren't religious. I support gay marriage btw. Just responding to what you wrote. |

I consider myself to be an aspiring Christian
but, that doesn't suggest that i am perfect by any means
& it doesn't mean that i am better than anyone else
I just think that we really need to love each other
The Ten Commandments even says to
  <<< Love thy Neighbor >>>
  how much ? ,<< As thyself >>>
  and guess what ?
I live on the fringe of the lavender district
  in my town
I have neighbors who are gay,
lesbian, bi & transvestites
soooo, we need to lay down the arms
in the gender wars and the religion wars
  and the sexuality wars
and find common denominators to unite us
       rather than divide us ...
I believe that God is the Ultimate Judge
and we are all going to have to give an account of our lives
sooo..we need to live and let live
although i must say ... i still can't forgive child Molestors
and don't think i ever will be able to
and they are in my neighborhood
so God is just going to have to deal with me
on that one,
if He wants me to have forgiveness
because i cannot find any kindness or forgiveness
for the horrible attacks on our children

I have a lot of gay, lesbian friends...I feel they have rights as people, medical, insurance blah blah blah. Even a civil ceremony if thats what they choose. But married in a church never. Love the sinner not the sin. And in God's eyes it is a sin for a man to be with a man or a woman to be with a woman. There are no ways around it. God says what he means and means what he says. Also all of my gay and lesbian friends know exactly where I stand on the issue. I don't hide it.

I absolutely support gay marriage. It's about equal civil rights.

There are a lot of things prohibited these days that just aren't any business of the neighbors, the state or the US government. Defend the borders, hunt the predators, butt out.

I think gay marriage is a very very good thing, much like kissing a bull in a red tent.
