I don't think he's 100% black and he was however raised by his white grandparents. And because of this great country he went to some of the finest colleges in the world! He doesn't know how hard it really is being "black".shocked

Many great Black American leaders out there, unfortunately I just don't think Lord Obama is one of them. IMO of course.

I justify it because I just never could develop a taste for ACORN's.rofl

no one is 100% Black
and being raised by White grandparents is irrelevant
my great grandfather was Caucasian...

as for Obama knowing how hard it is being Black, I'm sure being a Black man he's had a lot of insight, since HE was BORN BLACK...

don't judge a book by it's cover........

"""and being raised by White grandparents is irrelevant"""

that is like say being a marine is irrelevant during a battle in a war

totally wrong

being raised in a white environment is not the same as being raised in a major black area such as harlem*

or any other major black community no matter what the financial background of those living there

I have lived in both and it isn't irrelevant
I am still a woman of color regardless of where I live or who raises me
and he doesn't come from money

Does it scare anyone that Malcolm X and Barack Obama look a lot alike? Just curious.

I'll never forget the time I helped my best friend move from Phoenix to San Antonio. He had taken a new job and relocating. I was driving the U-Haul and he was driving his car.

As I pulled up to the Texas border, the typical lawman with the mirror shades and cowboy hat came up to the truck and asked me "Where ya headed?", I replied "San Antonio". He asked "What ya haulin?", I said "just some household stuff". Then he asked "Is it yours?" I said, "No". He said "Who's is it". I replied "It belongs to my friend in the car right behind me."

He looked back at Kelvin in the car who is black, then looked at me with my shaved head and said "Hey Jimmy Joe, bring them dogs over here and search this truck!"

True story.

Very true and the more black folks you are around the more you see. I have been the only white a group of black folks and had the police ID and question everyone around me on what they were doing there but not me. And I would have been in trouble because I had no ID. By the way the police were called by a white neighbor who complained because we were sitting in the yard talking.

This is just one of many many stories. Being in the car with black folks and being stopped is different than if I was by myself, going shopping is different if I am by myself than with a black person, watching the police illegally strip search suspected gang members on the street in front of my little children, etc.... It goes on and on

Hell no.

Malcolm X might have been militant but he was dead on about the treatment of blacks in this country. Malcolm learned about violence too late though to be the leader he would have been had he lived. He is the perfect example of how violence begets violence. I wish some of our leaders today would have learned the lessons he learned before he died.

the statement that obama is black ifs false and misleading

that is reason enough not to vote for him

it has nothing to do with his 25% black heritage

it is the dishonesty of using it to try to push more people to vote for him

huh Care to explain what you mean by that?huh

spock I already know.spock

Okay, I have to say...I have seen some pretty incredible stuff said here on these forums but I have to say that RainbowTrout's comment has to take the cake.

RainbowTrout says, "Does it scare anyone that Malcolm X and Barack Obama look a lot alike? Just curious."

I decided to look for a picture of someone who physically resembled him. I found it!

Now, the mods can smack me for this but again. Rainbowtrout opened the door to this discussion by making reference to the physical appearance of people.

I do not intend this post as an attack. I am only pointing out how silly such comparisons are.

I don't think I have ever heard of him trying to use it to get more votes, and if we are using the historical measures that white people made for determining whether a person was black, namely one drop of blood or 1/16 of black blood made you black then he is black and if not then there are a whole lot of us running around calling ourselves black when we are in fact not. Can't have it both ways.
flowerforyou Enderra, He is suggesting that Barack is only 25% of a man.flowerforyou

I fail to see your logic...
