I curious as to what the right wingers in these threads think about John McCains reaction to their rhetoric. I am curious as to why the racists from the other side are never mentioned... Get out on the street... They exist in the same number as white racists. It just be politically dangerous to mention that aspect of this time. Oh yes they don't say those things. I'm talking bout the STREET they have a snakelike hand shake followed by 'Obama, Obama we can own the land' followed by touching their fist together... at which point I am seen and get 'What you lookin at white boy' Yeh it exists. Ask a question about Obama and ACORN in an all black crowd if your white... bet you won't like the response. But it will never make the news... Not politically correct. Might make Fox but I doubt it... Nice... All else fails stick in an intimation I am lying (i.e 'They are just being stupid (if thats even true)in your statement above). I would have though that to be not your style. Its true. It has happend to me several times (enough so that I know what is said after the hand touching) I reckon you must be out of touch... Lots of people of color in the Rebublican party. Just not as many as you would find on a democratic ticket. |

Okay, here it goes, I am going to post something that may open another can of worms but...oh well...I think it needs to be said.
In my experience, there are as many black people who harbor racist feelings as white people who do. I have had political discussions with black friends and classmates in the past who have plainly stated that they would not vote for either candidate because they were the same in their eyes...old white men. In truth they didn't state it so politely but I don't want to get banned for repeating their verbiage. Is that okay? Is it okay to come out and vote for the first time for Obama because he is black? Or for Palin because she is a woman? I have to say that as happy as I am to see both a black man and a woman in this race it makes me very unhappy to think anyone would cast a vote based solely on race or sex. To me that sort of thing is the height of ignorance and is as shameful an action as not voting for someone solely because of their race or sex. So, is it okay? What do you all think? |

The democratic party is using his race to get power. Obama would make a good president after he gets some experiance... Like in four years or so. By then he may have made enough votes that I can be confident he ain't the tax monger he appears to be. |

And that would be another reason they are using him. Lots of people vote based on emotions rather than facts. |

What do you think is the reason why a person would be afraid the have a black president. I have been doing calls for Obama for some time now and I have actually had some people tell me that they would never vote for a black man. I guess they don't think I am black or perhaps they don't care. I just don't see how anyone can justify this. Ok already! I am "that guy"! I just can't do it! If he would undergo some treatment similar to Michael Jackson, I might reconsider. On a more serious note, Would you rather them them lie to you? Honesty has to count for something. One can't fix a problem, if they don't first acknowledge that they have a problem. In order to have this problem, one must participate in several acts just as this before they can see some kind of pattern which might lead them to believe they actually have a problem. Then and only then when they acknowledge that in fact, a problem does exist, can they proceed to try and correct it. It's all a part of a healing process. Surely Obama can sacrifice a few votes for the greater good of helping fellow Americans recover form the illnesses some of them suffer from. A small price to pay for a far greater reward than being President. Next Question. |

Is this not the way racism stays alive? Once a comment is made, something far uglier is thrown back at you. Ugly man I am not, for know nothing about the kind of person I truly am. Whatever happen to love thy neighbor? Forgive us of our trespasses, AS we forgive those who trespass against us? Two wrongs will never make a right. Best wishes to you in your journey! Thomas |
