I met someone for a few drinks. We played pool and drank a few glasses of wine. We weren't there 5 minutes and the guy starts walking really fast up to me like he was going to slap a bug off my head or something and he rammed his tongue down my throat. I backed off and told him he moved a little too fast. Anyway a little later we moved to the bar and he looks distraught. He mentions that he can't believe how expensive the place was.:( I felt bad and offered to help with the bill. He refused my offer. OMG is this an example of what's out there now???

Another guy has emailed me a few times and gave me his number. I never called it because I don't know him at ALL. He sees me here on the forums and sends me a mean email letting me know I have time to talk to others but not him. He actually used the F bomb on me.

Hell I should get the man I had back. *Deb thumps self on head* And to think I sould have had a damn V8 and went gay.

You can never be certain what type of person you are going to be meeting when you set up a date with someone from the internet. It really is a game of chance.

You can improve your odds greatly though by spending a greater amount of time chatting to someone, be it through email, IM, or telephone. The more types of communication the better. Also, if you make it clear that a date is just a date, and insist that sex or any kind of making out is not on the cards, you will at least have a fighting chance of preventing this kind of thing. You can always change your mind and go back on this if you wanted to.

Sounds like you should have used the poolstick on his head! I tend to spend a little more time talking to a perspective... the true colors will often show themselves. I have only met with two from a dating site...after the first.....i made it a policy to wait longer!!!LOL

A year could get frustrating..for you & a potential! I did meet one out of the two, and we had talked for about 3 months...we talked alot, and both felt very comfortable with each other. I know we would have met sooner, but distance made that, not possible. We are still very good friends, though we have never met again since, (2yrs now). We still talk a couple times a week. Dont give up because of just one derelict!
A good policy at first, i would suggest to all ladies, is.. at first provide your own transportation...dont want to get stuck somewhere ! Meet them at the agreed meeting place...they really dont need to know where you live either!
Meet somewhere with lots of people around, and best to meet for a lunch or something of that sort...theres daylight then and you can use an excuse to leave if it isnt going right! If it does..well then you have the choice to carry on!
