This is what a lady said and alot of it i have to agree.

There seems to be a huge misconception about "foreign" women. They are not bare foot baby machines who "mother" their husbands as some of you American women referred to them. If anything they are better multi-taskers, they work whether in factories or corporate, keep a clean home, cook a meal from scratch and raise well behaved grateful children, and have marriages that last, and the best part is that they do all this without b**ching and moaning. Any relationship is about compromise but it seems to me that many American women do not understand the definition of this term.

You women want the house surrounded by the white picket fence, but you don't want to maintain this house, instead you hire a cleaning lady to come in once a week. You want a bunch of kids, but you get a nanny to raise them. This is not independence - its pure laziness.

I am an American woman and I want to make my man happy. Feed him well, take care of him......this is how I grew up. A man does not have to pas my financial inquisition.

What is so funny is that a big percent of the American Men that think this way are controlling. They tend to want a woman to wait on them hand and foot it ends up all about them.

Not only that there are many of these relationships that turn abusive. You see American Women has learned that they deserve the same respect as the American Men do. That a relationship is not all about the Men but the Women as well.

We give in life what we receive. Once the Foreign Women learn that they have rights as well and can be whome ever they want to they will become American Women as well. Then what do those men do but leave them for another one they can control.

Agree with you both. Want to add, IMO younger men don't know how to treat a LADY. Somewhere many of "our generation" forgot to PROPERLY EDUCATE their kids. EDUCATION is the real root to most of our problems. Not school,FAMILY type education.

Hey Txs,
Like we said, No lumping, But, I know a guy who married a foreign woman and she did become "Americanized". She took his house and their child and ran off with another guy. It works both ways.

True. My mother WAS NOT my best friend, she was my parent. She did not bribe me to behave, she scared the crap out of me! Too many parent's don't want to parent. You can't be your kid's friend. You must be their educator.

I agree, but what you will find on this site are the ladies that were brought up in a different time and so there for, things have changed on both sides.

is it?

or is it a sign of a woman who recognizes the value of free time, time spent with family or time spent rejuvenating the mind

raising a family, maintaining a healthy relationship with your partner and your kids, while working full-time really is hard work, and the woman who can do all that well isn't, by any means, lazy, and deserves any luxury that she can afford.

i could accept a lot of what was written in the OP as food for thought at least, except to me it sounds as though a very bitter person wrote it. besides that, it's just way too general.

i've always felt that it's a weak man who has issues with his own confidence and self-worth who takes exception to independent women.

Uhh.. I have heard from MANY men their constant complaints about marriage.. "ball and chain" comments..ect ect... perhaps if they put more energy in the marriage they'd get more out of it also!

And chit.. where is MY cleaning lady? where WAS my nanny?? I'd like a white picket fence! lmao

What i have noticed and i'm sure many of you have seen it. is a women that takes care of her fmaily has alot more respect and appreciation for what she has, compared to a women that is brought up in a would where everything is alomost done for her. jmo
