A successful New York Builder goes to the most liberal talk show and declares his support for McCain.

It is not about the taxes Trump will pay.

He has a great tax bracket and a great income.

It is about building the future.

It is about risk management.

Apparently Trump is not a fan of Socialism either.

No one is in Trump's league anyway.

Trump is a unique character in America, but he knows real estate and building.

That is a notable caveat.

Really? You support a man that wants to raise taxes in the middle of all this finacial crisis, and then give all the poor americans a 1000 dollars, while uping corporate taxes, who could very easily decide to down size here and upsize over seas, there by laying off 1000's of workers nation wide maybe even you or someone you know,
and you support this Obamapitchfork who has not written any legislation since he's been in office.
Has no real experience governing, militarily or dare I say economically, or with foreign policy. And how's he gonna pay for all this, oh ya raise taxes, but not yours, right?laugh explode sad tears

I guess you must make over $250,000 a year. Because those are the ones that are getting their taxes raised.
and it wont afect you? when small businesses have to let go of people cause there taxes were raised and they have to raise their prices. That wont affect you. When businesses close in your city so they raise you property taxes cause the city no longer has its tax base that wont affect you?

Just remember, Liberals and Common sense have never been good buddies

Kerbear,

Why do you have to say things like that?

More Taxes are not going to solve the problems, that is obama's answer, and it is not the correct one.....

Obama can tax the hell out of us, but it is going to be passed onto the consumer..

I understand that post. But...putting groups of people down...I don't understand.flowerforyou

Well, it is not just me, I am defending my beliefs, I have been called a Neocon Racist just because I am a republican. And I am far from it. I just cannot watch my party get attacked..

I believe that beliefs can be defended without putting people down. And I know it's not just you.flowerforyou

One thing people are never going to agree on is politics and religion, and the political forums are proof of that. We all have are ideal way the Gov should be ran. It may not be a good idea to some people.

I got pissed when Nancy Pelosie went to japan and Apologised for the Bombs but makes no attempt to goto Pearl harbor. And I am sure the Republicans have done stuff that Pissed you off as well...

Yes, they have done stuff to get me p'od. But...I don't take it out on all Repubs. Only the political persons that did it.flowerforyou

I think there are at least five different statements I would love to comment on or at least question on this thread, but then I'd bore everyone and it's already late. Some highlights though... Trump supports McCain... this surprised who? IMO, all you have to do is look at what each candidate says they'll do to big business and the wealthy and you know exactly who he was going to vote for.

Then I thought, why do we always resort to baseless generalizations? Are Liberal and Conservative four letter words? I'm pretty sure they're not. Common sense to me would mean you don't make blanket statements about people of any group because more than likely it does not apply to ALL them, so it really kind of makes you look a bit ignorant and serves no real purpose other than to incite argument of some sort. And what is the point of that?

Also, I'll keep this as short as I can, but I've never been known for the simple and I realize I don't have all the facts in that I didn't major in Political Science and my sister is asleep now and would probably be very angry that I called and woke her up to explain every bit of this to me. OK, excuse the tangent. Someone, and please forgive me, but I don't remember who, said what happens when taxes are raised for small business or maybe it was just businesses and they have to turn to cheaper labor overseas or completely shut down. Total paraphrase there and I think I might have combined two arguments. I apologize. Well, I don't know exactly how this works, wich is part of the problem, but I know that Obama says there's some sort of tax relief, I think $500 for small businessed that is supposed to help the double payroll tax. I would think this would help if there is not another tax imposed negating this issue. I'm not saying there isn't, as I don't proclaim to know every nuance of either campaign, but if not. It is something. Also, I would think the idea of eliminating tax breaks for companies shipping jobs overseas would make it less desirable to do so. I think we should go a step further with that, but I'm not running for president.

I bring these ideas up only because it seems that both sides like to inflame the other by picking out things that on the surface seem pretty horrible, but really, may not be true or not as bad as they are painted. It is possible that both sides can achieve the same end by completely different means.

So who is right?

Lucky for us, we get to judge, eh?

Well, by over taxing corporations you are encouraging them to leave this country, yes. But the raising of the taxes will hurt everybody, not just those that are upper/middle class and higher. Ok, i guess my arguement against Obama is taht he wants to start a bunch of government programs to include a healthcare system, which sounds great, but we can't afford that. We will be in at least two conflicts with him militarily (probably 3 like with McCain.) So our spending on such things will increase, leaving us less money. They compared his health care plan to one in massachusetts, which insured hundreds of thousands. So many people in fact the state is having trouble paying for it. So what's Obama gonna do? Print more money? This will continue to lower the value of the american dollar and make fuel and medicine costs continue to skyrocket. IMO

Anyhow, i will not stick up for McCain either since he has no plans to preserve civil liberties, or help the economy (by auditing the FED), or rethink the foriegn policy we cant afford. I do like his voucher system for education though.

Anyhow, just something to think over...

Just think of all the things we could have been doing in this country if we didn't have to spend $10 Billion a month for a war that we never should have gotten into in the first place.

You made a good point about the Palin thing. However, who is going to end war? Obama has NO PLANS to change our foreign policy. In fact we will be spending MORE money than before since Obama and McCain plan on having us in at least two conflicts with a possible third. With Obama that will be, increased troops in afganistan, attacking pakistan which he has talked about before, and possibly helping the georgians... I see the spending on war increasing under both candidate's rulings. So i ask again, how will you increase taxes enough on 5% of americans to pay for that, plus a VERY expensive health care plan, and somehow attack our deficit, all while lowering taxes for the 95% of workers?

Drivinmenutz's photo
Fri 09/19/08 09:08 AM
Edited by Drivinmenutz on Fri 09/19/08 10:04 AM
Bear in mind that this health care plan in massachusetts is costing the state around 1.5 billion dollars. that's for about 6.5 million people. Now divide 300 by 6.5 and get 46.2(rounded). Multiply that by 1.5 billion and you get 69.3 billion dollars being spent (approx) on this healthcare system. Divide that by 12 and you get almost 6 billion a month. (5.8 rounded up) Anyhow, this is just an estimate. But add that to your 10 billion a month, and oh yeah, calculate the cost of increased presence in afganistan plus the possiblity of sending troops to Georgia and .... uh oh, i think we have a largely increasing deficit. Hmmmm.... i know, PRINT MORE MONEY and spend it!! Especially since he has no plans to audit the FED. Now, what do we have here...

(Let me explain something first) The value of gold is more or less constant, since the currency is universal. Now i ask, when you take the oil increases in value and compare them to gold there is no change in the last ten or so years. Now, look at the cost of oil in american dollars, you have a %350 increase, and a %200 increase in the cost of euros. Get what's happening? The cost of oil isn't necesarily going up, the value of our dollar is going down. Now, also take into consideration the fact that medicine is made internationally.... hmmm... When you make money out of nothing and put it into circulation you lower the value of the money already being circulated.

Ok, now we have increased Oil and Healthcare costs.... ooo, wouldn't that increase the cost of the insurance? Now my friends we have a vicious circle. Especially since the cost of our foreign policy increased...

If the Pakistan/Georgia claim is true it would be a while before we could field the assets to accomplish that.

I am more worried about something else. It would be my hope that the us military has placed some patriots along our southern borders to watch for black jacks....

and that the US Navy hold a few 'exercises' on all the atlantic approaches to the Caribiean.. Just for show of course.
